A Hello...& are we better than 14th in the league?

First, Howdy. I just signed up today. I'm a Saints fan out here in Las Vegas. Used to live in NO back in the day....nice to find y'all....

Second, Ijust saw this "Power Poll" thing that rates the teams by a mathematical formula, using scoring, results, stats, and some weird analysis of your opponents, but it has us ranked 14th in the league, behind the Panthers, Bucs, 49ers, and barely ahead of the Falcons.

Are we middle of the pack? I'd put us in the top 10...

Not trying to be pisssy here, but we don\'t really deserve much better than that yet.
If we beat Titans, we\'ll jump into the teens, then beat Indy we\'ll be in the top 10.

If we go 15-1 and win the superbowl, we\'d jump into ESPN\'s top 5, maybe!

Many people have said it on here before....we are a better underdog than we are a favorite.

We sure are alot betteras an underdog. How long was it till anyone took us serious in 2000? People will keep making jokes about us till the Saints prove consistently how good they are. I say as long as we keep winning they can keep joking! I personally think the Saints are at least a top 10 team.

The Saints are an after thought to the national press. I watched all of the nfl recaps and nobody gave the game more than passing mention.(Oh by the wat the Saints beat somebody...now on to more about Jeremy Schocky.)

The one shot they all showed was J.B. losing his jock strap on the goal line. :P hilarious!

CBS sportsline has us at 19th down from 17th last week!?

How the hell do you blow out a team and move DOWN in rankings?

This aint the BCS!!!

I hated the power ranking last year because the players seem to like reading about themselves more than proving themselves. Right now I would say the rankings should be fairly close for the saints. They lose to seattle and looked like crap doing it and then they beat the texans. The results of those two games don\'t say a whole lot in my book.

The saints always play better when they have to prove someone wrong.

I don\'t look for the saints to get any respect respect this year until they win a couple games in december. Most football guys are a little tired of the saints making them look bad so the respect is going to be harder to come by ... if it is deserved.

The Saints being in a small market city has a lot to do with them not getting as much press as some of the big market teams. Also the Saints don\'t have a winning history like some of the franchises. They also don\'t have a lot of \"media darling\" players.

As far as the Saints getting respect from the media -- It doesn\'t take long at all to get the respect. All any team has to do right now is to string together 3 or 4 wins and they will be considered a contender by the media. The problem is the media is fickle. They go with who ever is hot at the time and jump off that boat at the first sign of trouble.

If we beat the Titans and the Colts you will see the media jumping on board. Which really means nothing -- Just like those power rankings

Billy makes a valid point.

I would like to add that it really isn\'t news for us to pound someone that we really should\'ve pounded. The BIG story would have been if Houston had come in and torn us a new one.

If we beat Tennessee, then the focus will be, \"What\'s wrong with the Titans?\"
If we beat the Colt, the story will be, \"Dungy: Can he right the ship?\" or \"Titans still have playoff dreams\"
We\'ll need to be several more people to make a big splash which is cool with me. I like not having all the media focus on us. Some of our guys may lack the discipline to handle that sort of attention.

Even though not so long ago, Howie Long named his tough guy of the year, Norman Hand. And I recall a lot of interviews with guys like Joe Johnson, LaRoi Glover, etc. So we do kind of get our turn when we do very well. But we really haven\'t shown anything yet.

\"F-ing Polls aren\'t worth crap. I know everyone here wants the National Media to S our D\'s & swallow, but it aint gonna happen. At least not until we are CONSISTENT. And truely we aren\'t even close to that right now.\"

Don\'t sugar coat it GatorMan tell us what you really think.
