Pigs may not be flying, but fish are falling!

OK, guys! I have to know if this has happened to anyone else, ever. Yesterday afternoon around 6:00 I went outside to get something out of my car that was parked in my driveway. Nothing unusual. Went back in, and back out 20 minutes later when my daughter drove up. She and her husband were walking all around their truck laughing, and asked me where I got the fish. Well........there are like 3 newly dead fish in my drive, and 30 - 35 more scattered in mine and my neighbor's sideyard. Out of the back come a group of electricians working on my neighbor's gazebo, and they're freaking out, saying these fish just dropped from the sky! The fish are all different sizes and species! A few shad, bream, little tiny ones, and hand-sized ones, too! Is this freaky, or what???? I read online that sometimes these things happen from them being sucked up into a waterspout, and then have been known to be dumped up to 100 miles away! We're about 6 miles from Lake Conroe here. I live in a gated community, so can't imagine anyone driving up and coming down my long driveway to dump some fish and then run away!

With that said....I'm taking this as a good sign! Pigs may not be flying....."YET".....but our Saints are fixin' to win a Super Bowl! (No I was NOT drinking, and YES, I took pictures)!

Life is too short to be miserable....make changes while you can!

Re: Pigs may not be flying, but fish are falling!

Here is a pretty good explanation of what might have happened. But I like your "pigs flying" explanation even better. I still think it is a sign of a Saints win.

Although this explanation might satisfy the stories of frogs falling from the sky, what about fish? You don't find mass migrations of fish crossing overland, do you? Well, maybe not mass migrations, but believe it or not, there are fish species that occasionally take to the ground in search of better waters. There are many species of "walking fish" in the world. Mudskippers are probably the best known variety. In Florida in 2008, a school of about 30 walking catfish emerged from the sewer during a heavy storm and went slithering around on the street. The northern snakehead is another fish that can wriggle its way around on dry land. Throughout Africa and Asia are 36 species of climbing perches. They have a special organ that allows them to breathe air, and are able to walk using their gill plates, fins and tail, despite looking completely fishlike with no obvious ambulatory limbs. None of these fish move gracefully or even look like they have the ability. To the average witness, it's a live fish flopping around on the ground where no fish has any business being, and having fallen from the sky seems as good an explanation as any.

But they can't have fallen from the sky. Drop a fish off a building, and that's a dead fish. These fish are not reported as being burst open with their guts splattered out, but as flapping and squirming about, very much alive. An alternate explanation, that these fish are simply using their rare but well established ability to move overland, doesn't require us to accept some unexplained, implausible hypothesis even in the face of a lack of splattered-fish evidence.

Check this out, exile: Weird, Weird Rain If the fish were "walking", they would have had to walk together for miles to get to my yard....and also through a wooden fence in the back! The electricians in the backyard told us that the fish just "fell" from the sky.....I'm goin' with the waterspout theory. It's the only one that makes any sense whatsoever! Hummmmmm, perhaps one of the endtime signs? Or just a precursory miracle to our guys FLYING through the Super Bowl with a big "W"!?????

Yeah that waterspout idea seems viable enough Joanie. I'm watching the sky for pigs as we type. It's gonna happen.
