Just an idea, I didnt say I supported it...

Rumor out of SD is they wanna trade Cromartie for a RB......can anyone think of a running back everyone is trying to unload from our team???

Didnt say I supported it, I think Reggie is a good fit with us, just alot of money....i'd have to look at cromarties contract first, but what do u guys think.....

Re: Just an idea, I didnt say I supported it...

No way. They are looking to unload Cromartie because of his lack of effort and apparent discipline issues. Not really a SP or GW type of guy.

Re: Just an idea, I didnt say I supported it...

They said the same thing about Shockey... Still we don't need him.

But Payton knew Shockey and always spoke against the lack of effort tag.

.. the problem with Shockey in NY was that Eli felt intimidated by him... still I agree the Saints don't need Rodgers. This Saints team has a "No Punks Allowed" policy.

Re: Just an idea, I didnt say I supported it...

You can get into too much trouble hanging out in SD. Maybe he needs a change of pace, where the temptations of living a full and debauched life are distant. That might not be NO. Buffalo comes to mind, as does St. Louis. Or maybe he's acting out because he doesn't like sand, perfect weather, beautiful women and a high quality of life.

BTW, it's Antonio Cromartie, not Dominique Rogers-Cromartie, who plays for the Cards.

I think it was a lot of things...and he hasn't gone a full season here uninjured.

But what a difference he makes when he plays. I'm glad Shockey is a Saint.

Re: Just an idea, I didnt say I supported it...

I'm not so sure he'd fit in here. The knock on him is work ethic. Same thing for Shockey.....but Payton knew better than that when it came to Shockey. I'm a Shockey fan now. But I didn't start that way. I just wish he could stay healthy.

Isn't Reggie from the SD area?

We have MUCH greater needs than a risk trade for a CB. Greer and Porter have been outstanding. They allowed one TD pass all reg season when both were on the field according to espn stats.

Nope. Work ethic was never a question with Shockey.. maybe Shockey going to the U to train with all the ex-Canes during the offseason and OTAs didn't sit well with the NY coaches, but the real reason behind moving Shockey was Eli... Eli feels intimidated by anyone who's vocal in the huddle.

More like Jerry Reese gets intimidated by people who get vocal in his office...

Re: Just an idea, I didnt say I supported it...

Shockey is vocal while he sleeps is my guess. The dude is a firecracker in a pair of cleats.

I'm glad he is a Saint. He fits well. We need players like that. Keeper.

Thanks NY. Jets t
oo for Vilma.
Vikes too for Sharper.
Bills too for Greer.

I hope the Saints don't join that list for someone else.
We've got great players. They won a super bowl for us.

Keep as many as ya can! I know that isn't realistic but it is loyal.

Cromartie is not worth M bell at this point to us. We have the best Tandem of corners in the league.

Trade Bush for Cromartie?

Sources: San Diego Chargers shopping cornerback Antonio Cromartie for running back - ESPN

Something to consider....

Re: Trade Bush for Cromartie?

San Diego already has a "Bush type" player, in Sproles. I think they are probably looking for more of a power back.

I agree with you. Winning is on and off the field .
Coaches Payton, Williams seem strict. Some of the Saints are strict too.
Porter said he watched the film over and over of the Colts and their same play. He must have seen something there and learned something because that interception of Porter's was a turning point for the :bng:Saints.
This Saints team, on a whole, seems to have been on the level.

I know I am being negative here...Only thing I can think of, is the parade, #35 was doing the nasty dance and I thought that was really wrong. I assume they ,Saints pr, drilled the team before as to what not to do. I don't know why another team member told him to keep that at the club.Gross.

Pretty sure they told them to just have fun, whats "The Nasty Dance" to some is fun to others, guys were smiling, having fun, dry humping the floats and air is somewhat played out anyway, i'd give them flack on being kinda carny rather than wrong..
Just loosen up, it's New Orleans, who's uptight?

Re: Just an idea, I didnt say I supported it...

I agree with you Choup. Payton and staff seems to be strict. I bet they are. With Shockey, I really think he is one of those types who is all shock and hype on the surface, but when it comes down to business, on the football field and preparing for the game, Shockey is all business.
This season was personal for him. Going against the Giants, his game, years in the NFL, injury before, he was on a personal misson .

He's got 7 kids in at least 5 states... several paternity suites in motion.

Thats all I got to say about that.

Re: Trade Bush for Cromartie?

bush will be hard to deal i'm thinking, has a big asking price with small market value. has a lot of mileage in 4 years in the league. the raiders maybe would be the idiots to deal that all pro corner asomugha for him

st thomas 02-17-2010 07:32 PM

Re: Just an idea, I didnt say I supported it...

we should try to trade bush for asomugha if u want a corner.

ScottF 02-17-2010 07:46 PM

Re: Just an idea, I didnt say I supported it...

instead of trading Bush for a corner, why not just make him one...
he's got the speed, the ups, the strength... plus who would throw his way? auto pick six

yes, it is a stupid idea... almost as bad as trading him for Cromartie

Usama Young ain't the answer at a backup CB, that's for sure! Manning ate him up. And we had to bring in guys from the street when our CB got hurt during the year.

Two words...no thanks. I dont think he is better than Greer or Tp at this point. So he would probably be nickel....I'll pass.

wait, y'all are being a little harsh, didnt dude just have a 10 pick season three seasons ago? dude is a play maker, just got lazy and fell out of favor, im not sayin we should get him, but he is better then malcom at this point, better then young, leigh and just as good if not better then gay... i say trade bush and and swap our 1st rounders.... best from cal would be a perfect fit in a perfect world

you're right. Young is not the answer at back up cb, thats why they tried to move him to safety in training camp. im sure loomis and payton will do whats best for the team. im in no place to say what are the right moves and what not. thats y they get paid the big bucks and im jus a warehouse manager. lol. ;)
