No way. LT himself has said our backfield is solid already. I call LT to the Seahawks, Vikings or Chiefs. And he will have a year equal to Edge James in a Cardinals uniform.

Speaking of which these threads are eerily similar to the "sign Edge James" threads of yesteryear. :D

i think if we can replace Bell with LT then it will get done..LT knows Brees..I think he can perform the roll that Bell did plus he is a recieving threat..all 3 backs (pt/bush/lt) would then be a screen pass threat where as with bell in, he was not getting too many screen passes thrown his way..he only had 4 receptions for 12 yds all year

we need a backup bruiser. RB's have a very short life span in the NFL and bruisers are hard to come by. Three guys of the "same" skill set are too much. LT is not a fit. Unless you're planning to trade Reggie for a 1st rounder. Then, well, I'll go as far as mmmaaaayyyybeeee.

Looks like Bell isn't going to be offered a deal, so the writing may be on the wall concerning this one. I am kind of mixed on this, I would easily say LT has lost a step, but looking at the entire situation you have to remember San Diego didn't run the ball well with any of their backs this past season.

The key to Tomlinson's decision is the Saint's decision on Bush. If we decide to keep Reggie around, I find it hard to believe that we could get LT. If Reggie is gone, I'm thinking LT is a sure thing.

No need to get LT with 4 serviceable running back on the roster.With PT,Bush,Bell,and Hamiltion on the roster.Even if Bell goes that leaves three.So where does LT fit in.

Are you all forgetting that LT is a part time drama queen? He complains and whines when he doesnt get the ball. We have too many offensive weapons and not enough balls to go around. Even if we get rid of Bell, I think PT, Bush and Hamilton backfield would work and not to mention be cheaper.

LT, even with a (dubious) "lost step" is better than many running backs at their best.

Short yardage first downs and punching it in from short yardage is actually an area we could use some improvement.

Who knows what'll happen. I have faith in the staff.

LT IS NOT WHAT HE USED TO BE, I WOULD LET REGGIE BE THE MAIN BACK BEFORE I WOULD EVEN LET LT STEP ON TO THE PRACTICE FIELD. HE IS TO INJURY PRONE AND HIS NUMBERS OF LATE ARE TERRIBLE!!!!!

I would prefer Thomas Jones. And really really prefer Darren Sproles or Willie Parker. I mean... IF we are going to sign a RB which I highly doubt.

LT's best days are behind him, he's lost speed and his "jump cut" is gone too. Mickey Loomis is way too smart to waste good $$$ on a guy thats already slipped past any hope of being productive. The only reason Brees tweeted that comment was in an attempt to be nice to his old teammate and make him feel better. LT won't even be signed by any team until Oct. if even then.

He has always been one of those kind of guys that just rubbed me the wrong way. I, for one, will be greatly diappointed if he becomes a Saint..especially now when there is no real reason.

I'd rather have Deuce back!...yeah, I said it. j/k, of course. :)
