League could change postseason overtime format BECAUSE OF HOW SAINTS BEAT VIKINGS!

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Either keep it sudden-death OT or make it just like the college OT. This seems like a half-ass solution....

Jesus, yet another way to try to minimize our victory.

Oooh...oooh...oooh. I just had a GREAT idea!

How 'bout we have the coaches write down their prediction for the total amount of points scored before the game starts? If it ends in a tie, whoever comes closest wins!

I can see it now...the score ends in a tie at 20-20, and their coach holds up a card with the number 40 on it. Just as we all think it is over because there is no way that Payton has that number on his card, he holds up a card that says 0 on it. As we all groan, the referee holds up Payton's arm and declares him champion. How is this possible?

It turns out that Payton is the sly fox once again and is right...as there were 0 points scored before the game started.

Whether you think you can or think you can't...you're right!

... or since the networks already stole the idea of the fieldcam from the XFL, why not steal their OT rules?
No coin toss to determine who kicks.
Place the ball on the center of the field, then both teams line up on their 20 yard lines, and at the whistle, both teams make a mad dash for the ball.

Now that's entertainment!

Wow...genius! There it is! Can't be any more fair than that...no? I love it!

You know...I would actually vote for this over anything else that is presently in place or has been suggested...no chit.

Look there are TWO teams on the field of play at any time. If you change the overtime rule, what you are saying is 'If you have a fantastic defense that allows two hundred yards a game and sacks a quarterback 5 times a game but your offense is only so-so, then we are going to take away the idea that your defense can win the game for you and therefore take away your strength'.

OLD MAN GOODELL! SO IT WAS YOU WHO WANTED NO DISCUSSION ABOUT THE CHANGING OF THE OVERTIME RULE?!

YEAH, IT WAS ME. I WOULD HAVE GOT AWAY WITH IT TOO IF IT WEREN'T FOR THOSE PESKY, MEDDLIN' SAINTS!

It is absurd to change the rule.

This is the NFL, if you want to win in OT....Stop the offense (if you'er the defense) and make sure you score (If you're the offense).

ESPN/NCAA/ and everyone else who hates Louisiana Sports orginization, just hates to see the LA sports orgs do well. I firmly believe this.
