BILOXI — Saints fans lined up early Tuesday evening to meet New Orleans Saints kicker Garrett Hartley at Edgewater Mall in Biloxi.
Gulf Coast Cards & Sports Memorabilia arranged Hartley’s trip to the Coast.
The Super Bowl–winning placekicker arrived early to surprise more than 500 fans waiting in line to snag an autograph and picture.

Hartley will also be signing autographs at Turtle Creek Mall in Hattiesburg today from 6 to 8 p.m.
Hartley said winning the Super Bowl is still surreal.
“It has not really sunk in yet,” he said. “I just feel fortunate that I was able to play with such a tremendous group of players. I am only 23 and not too much older than these kids in line to see me. I know it is a big deal to them and these fans are a big part of what I do.”
Hartley spent more than two hours signing footballs, posters, T-shirts and headgear.
Sandra Bishop of Moss Point arrived about two hours early to secure her spot in line to meet Hartley.
“I wanted to hear that story about Hartley’s dream he had before the NFC championship against the Vikings,” she said. “He called his dad after he dreamed he would win the game by kicking a 42-yard field goal with a right hash.”
Hartley said that is how it happened.
“It was about 2:15 in the morning when I called my dad about my dream,” Hartley said. “I saw myself having the game in my hands with a 42-yard kick and it ended up that I had it with a 40-yard field goal that sent us to the Super Bowl.”
Gulf Coast Cards & Sports Memorabilia on Sunday will host Saints defensive back Tracy Porter and wide receiver Robert Meachem. who will sign autographs from 3 to 5 p.m.

It's going to be nice having our punting, place-kicking, and kickoff chores taken care of so well in Hartley and Morstead. Fewer worries for the coaching staff. They can concentrate their efforts more toward position players.
