I'm a huge Pierre Thomas fan. I think he could easily rush for 1,200 yards and 10+ touchdowns, but we can't overpay for him. If a team makes him a reasonable offer we should match it, but a 2nd round pick would be very useful for continuing to improve the defense.

I had a college professor who used to write "water is wet" on our papers if we stated the obvious. I guess he thought "NO SH**" wasn't appropriate.

The obvious here is, yes, we should re-sign our best RB. We should also not cut Brees, or fire Payton.

In case none of you noticed the Saints put a second round tender on him. They have in essense already resigned him. In a normal year his 4 years of experience would have him eligible for unrestricted free agency. Because of the uncapped year he now needs 6 years.

So if a team wants him they have to give up both a second rounder and pay him a substantial, and I'm talking top ten RB money, for us not to match their offer. Not happening.

Pierre will be on our team next year. We will pay him $1.684MM next year (a bargain) and we will probably tender him at a 1st round level next year as he will be a restricted FA again.

Yes resighn but at the same time this is something the saints don't have to worry about till next season he is a restricted free agent
