Re: Position Breakdown: Defensive Backs

Without Sharper and not knowing whether Jenkins is a Safety or Corner means we've taken a big step backward; though Greer and Porter manned on the corners with Gay at Nickel is pretty solid...

If Sharper doesn't come back I'd say we have a problem. Otherwise we're doing pretty good. harper looked much better playing for GW than he ever did for Gibbs. Corners finally look good.

Re: Position Breakdown: Defensive Backs

with our offense DB is key. they have to pass if they can not stop us. Porter and Greer down showed a dramatic drop off in talent at CB. I could live with

Kyle Wilson, Boise State in the first as a slot cover guy and punt returner.

Devin McCourty, Rutgers also in the first

Chris Cook, CB/FS, Virginia in the second is real tempting. require some moving around.

but sitting pat at 64 you have my favorite unknown of the draft

Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, Indiana of Pennsylvania

Pro Day 40 Time: 4.31.
Benchx225: 21

I hope the saints were there to scout him.

for safeties

Morgan Burnett, FS, Georgia Tech n the second

He can play SS as well. he is a thump-er. SS with FS hands? nice thought

In the 4th

Robert Johnson, FS, Utah

I really like this kid. he is a play maker

In the sixth I have a few

Cody Grimm, S, Virginia Tech
Chris Maragos, FS, Wisconsin
Aaron Webster, FS, Cincinnati
Kam Chancellor, S, Virginia Tech
Eddie Hicks, FS, Southern Miss
jury is still out here

I agree on both counts. Sharper could sure school some of these young safeties if we go that way.

Re: Position Breakdown: Defensive Backs

No big worries, even if Sharper does leave the Saints are still pretty solid in this area.

Re: Position Breakdown: Defensive Backs

The DB's will rise and fall with the up-front crew. If we get no pass rush (AGAIN), the DB's will have trouble. If the DB's have to give major run support (AGAIN), there will be injuuries (AGAIN) and they will have trouble. What is the delicate mix of experience and youth that will leave a sweet taste in our mouths? Who knows? We need someone to step up or step in for ScottF and Grant. If we get solid help for Vilma and Ellis, our DB's will do just fine.

Re: Position Breakdown: Defensive Backs

Our DB's... To speak about their play is outstanding best I'v seen in NO. in a long time. The front 7 make their jobs easier as did jabari greer and porter did for sharper. I think jenkins is at corner for the next 2 seasons i think SP wants to see what we have in Chip Vaughn, then worst comes to worst move MJ to FS. Can we really evaluate our medical staff, the injuries and the diagnosis of such are inexcusable. a pulled groin turns into a hernia as did shocks last year GMAB
