again all the talk after the game is about AB, AB played a good game, i don't think we need to be discussing him

what we need to discuss is why we lost, why did we lose...?

1) our secondary is easily the worst in the league, ambrose couldn't cover gary coleman and T-Buck looks absolutely horrible, our front 7 handled the run very well, george had 100 yds but it took him 30 carries to do it, damn near every time the titans had to throw the ball it looked like our practice squad was covering

2) our offensive line was offensive looking, they looked like swiss cheese, deuce never had a chance to get out of the backfield and AB was hurried all day long, our OL is supposed to be one our stronger units, i'm not sure what the problem was here wether it was not spreading the titans defense more with better playcalling or maybe we were just overpowered, i don't know

i don't think AB, deuce or our WR's had anything to do with our loss to TN, it was these two units that were to blame, now you might also be able to question our playcalling on offense as well but i don't think you can call out venturi on this one, i don't care what coverage was called there is no excuse for ambrose playing 15 yds off a WR who has been running 5 and outs all damn day, he's veteran for crying out loud

as a side note our special teams looked somewhat retarded in the first quarter as well

Hhhmm. I can and do blame Venturi. Not specifically for Ambrose\'s incredibly large cushion, but for poor play. I think most people are shocked by the offense\'s play, and are therefore, to some degree, issuing the defense a pass b/c of it.

We allowed 27 points. You don\'t win a lot of games when you allow 27 points. Furthermore, Tennessee is not a particularly potent offense - and while they didn\'t gun it all over us, they did completely control us. They did EXACTLY what they wanted to do. They went on long, slow drives. Running and dumping the ball off on short routes - keeping our O on the sidelines and slowly chipping away and tiring out our defense.

Venturi and our D were owned just as badly as our offense. Yes, it is frustrating to see such a potent team get held to 10 points twice in 3 games. No, it doesn\'t instill a lot of confidence. However, only scoring 10 wins just about as many games as allowing 27 does. I\'d say about 1 out of every 3... what do you know? That\'s our record! ;)

I\'m going to toot my own horn here, but the intermediate passing game of the Titans did kill us.

The funny sidebar was that according to the announcers, Eddie George\'s career has been revitalized, he\'s back to his pro-bowl form. Funny how playing the black and gold defense suddenly makes our opponents running game look healthy. :casstet:
