Welcome to my playoff nightmare

(Bear with me, this has correlations to the Saints and NFL)

My dream last night ... It's an elimination game in the NBA playoffs this year, and if the Lakers win they're champs. It's the 4th quarter and the score is Lakers (my team) 82, Cavaliers 81. There are 3 minutes left in the 4th and the Cavs call timeout. The Cavs players and coaches are pleading with the refs to change the rules for the end of the game. They say to the refs "the better team is supposed to win, but we have no chance because Kobe always comes through in the clutch". The refs agree and state over the P.A. system "There is just too much pressure on us, the players and the coaches toward the end of a playoff game. We're going to run out the rest of the game clock and have a skills contest to determine the winner. We've selected TV commentator Jeff Van Gundy to judge the contest. Lakers and Cavs, you are expected to run out the shot clock and turn the ball over and not attempt to score until regulation time is out. If you score, the points will be waived off and you will be assessed technical fouls.".

So the Lakers and Cavs proceed to run out the shot clocks and game clock. Phil Jackson makes some snide remarks about the ruling to the refs, to no avail. Kobe shoots a few airballs at an imaginary basket, as he wishes he could still win the game. The clock is out, the scoreboard reads - Lakers 82, Cavs 81, end of 4th, but the game is not over. The skills contest begins and while the contest is in progress, the Cavs are awarded extra tries for their dunks and shots, specifically for Ilgauskas and older players who are not that coordinated. After about 20 tries, Ilgauskas finally completes a reverse windmill dunk, to the delight of the crowd, and Van Gundy awards him a '10' holding up a sign.

Luckily, I wake up this morning before the Cavs are declared the winner of the game, by judge's decision.

So dream interpreters ... how do you all think I'm feeling about the NFL overtime rule change??? Or the Ilgauskas loophole? No blue smoking catepillar in this dream, at least that I can recall.

That would be Donna Jo (DJ) Tanner as we all know her from Full House, or you might remember her as being the sister in real life of holy-roller Kirk Cameron, Candace Cameron.

Yup I'm sold time for an avatar change.

Full House could really use a Reunion Show, minus the dudes. Oprah should hook it up.

Re: Welcome to my playoff nightmare

so you are assuming that even tho the cavs have swept the lakers in the regular season and are clearly the better team that somehow the lakers will compete up until the buzzer

secondly.....kobe gets more shots at the buzzer than any other player in the league......not to mention hes one of the best players in the league.....you wanna know why people think hes so clutch? BECAUSE HE TAKES ALL THOSE SHOTS

they cant play defense and they cant outscore people so they rely on magic at the end of the game to come out with wins

whereas the cavs cant help but blow teams out by 15-20 points

oh and this OT rule in the NFL stinks like 10 day old underpants

the NBAs OT rule works.....so does the MLBs and the NHLs......the only major sport in america that cant figure out overtime is the NFL

"deal with it or you can go play the saints and get trounced by 30 and you won't have to worry about it."-colin cowherd
