I noticed that Loomis indicated that they could fill any needs in the draft (minus kicker / punter) including and pointing out the safety position in the case Sharper hadn't signed yet.

Yeah, Loomis is putting that pressure and reality check out there. I think it indicates that Loomis really does want him back and its almost like his pleading with him publicly.... Like "Don't make me do this".

All said Sharper'esque safeties come along only once every few years [sigh]

If I were Sharper I wouldn't let the offer go to the draft without being signed. We will draft a safety in the draft as insurance if Sharper isn't signed then if he doesn't get any other offers which is highly likely then he'll be poo poo out of luck

I still have high hopes for Chip Vaughn. 6'2" 220lbs and runs between a 4.36 and 4.42.
