Loomis: Saints want Sharper but at their price

We found out a couple of weeks back that unrestricted free-agent safety Darren Sharper is open to returning to the Saints, one of the teams on a short list of favorites.

Saints general manager Mickey Loomis held his pre-draft news conference Friday, and he touched on the topic of Sharper, saying the two sides have stayed in touch, according to The Times-Picayune.

“We have a specific idea of what we want to pay Darren,” Loomis said. “But if another team offers a big contract, I’ll be happy for him.....

Nothing has changed. Hope he signs, but obviously Sharper isn't the only option in the organization's eyes.
