sean payton said he was going to go after the undefeated season....after the colts announced they were more concerned with the post season, payton admitted that he would play to win with our starters

injuries killed us of course......but the games throughout the season you can tell....games where teams could run, we struggled......the miami game, the washington game, even the rams that were pretty terrible as evidenced by their first pick in the draft

any team that could run the ball could've beaten us and should've beaten us except for flukes like a missed field goal in the redskins game etc

we cannot win like that because teams know how to attack us now from the kickoff til the end of the game.....we will not win if we do not stop the run
I agree (all teams) not just the saints need to stop the run to win, if they don't stop our run, we'll win.. but i stand by what i said earlier, i believe Sean Payton went back on his word and backed out of that "we''re gearing for a perfect season, talk..
His main concern came when we lost 8 + starters and it got worse as we continued, somehow squeaking wins with our backups..
I think we'll win if we remain Healthy, our "Healthy" starters will take care of the run if they are indeed healthy enough to do so..

No reason why Saints won't be even better than last year. Does anybody really think the D won't be better? And the O will still be pretty dang good. The bullseye on their backs is a little bigger now, and the schedule might be a little less favorable.

But to me that means there's still something to prove every week. What I like about this schedule is it will really help SP keep the players up for each game because it's almost like a different challenge every week - short week, outdoor road game in December, playoff opponent, etc. Not to mention all the prime time games, which are great if you don't live in the NOLA area.

"I'm going back to New Orleans, to wear that ball and chain."

I completely agree!

After the Miami game teams figured us out. We stuggle against the run. After the Miami game we struggle for wins against teams with a decent running game. Injuries had alot to do with this also

In the offseason I become extra critical of the team. We need some run stoppers. Plain and simple. The schedule is tougher than last years but I do believe we will be fine

yeah, look how the "tough teams" made out against the Saints '09. Tougher the team, higher level of play opponents will see from Saints. I actually think this was a part of the formula to last years run.... the constant threat of tough opponents elevated the teams sense of drive and urgency.... and when they overcame each tough opponent, it just snowballed confidence.... all up until the last 3 when they had the division on lock and slacked. But then it was too late, they confidence was running through the veins, ready to unload come playoffs.

The strength of a schedule can change so quick I don't care for those rankings. A team that had a lousy season last year might catch lightning in a bottle and be great this year while a good team mig fall apart due to injuries or other turmoil.

Games will be played on the field not through a mic. Remember guys, this is the same tool who said new Orleans should be taken away after Katrina.

Didn't they all say we had one of the toughest schedules in the NFL last year?

Refresh my memory... how'd 2009 end up for us?
