One play closes the story on my mantra.

Saints in a single back set. Brooks send Deuce in motion to his left. Colts DE on Brooks right side gets HUGE eyes cause he knows he has a clean shot a passing QB. Brooks takes the snap, looks left, and is hammered loses the football and colts take over.

Now this one play confirms everything most people on here have been saying.

1. Brooks can't read defense. It was plain as day this was coming and Brooks never saw it. Had he saw it he would not had sent Deuce in motion and/or he would have thrown the ball much faster.

2. Off coord sucks because that was a poorly designed pass play. There was NOBODY to pick up this defender.

3. Coaching sucks!! How do you not teach your QB to read this most obvious situation.

This is not a case of hindsight being 20/20.

I will take no. 3 and it will most likely answer no. 2 and no.1 is obvious .

This is what happens when you take a quarterbacks coach , who has never been in control of an offense before , just a piece of the puzzle and give him the keys to the ferrari .

Mc Carthy has only ever been a quarterbacks coach , he has never run an offense before , not even at the college level . You end up with plays like these , offensive penalties in the bunch load and a general curious , why did he call that play look on your face .
