Re: charles grant?

He'll get some calls when some contending team loses a LDE in pre-season or early in the season.

How he stays in shape will determine his future.

He's not a bad DE at all. He's a lot better than many DE's currently starting and he's a good teammate from all I've heard and read.

The Starcaps thing was probably a contract hold-up too.

Re: charles grant?

ya 4 game suspension is going to hurt him. i doubt he stays in shape but maybe going without millions of dollars a year might just be the kick in the butt he needs. i know it sure would for me going from multi millions to nada.

And the MAIN reason he was cut was because he wasn't worth the major salary he was due.

He'd be a great pickup for a solid DE rotation, at 1/3 his 2009 salary.

He will play for someone in 2010.

No doubt he will play for someone in 2010. Despite his inconsistent play, he is still a great talent playing a high demand position.

Re: charles grant?

he should be fat enough by now that we can re-sign him at DT

Re: charles grant?

Meh, although i could careless about him feeding his kids and making it rain, im going to say, i doubt many teams are foaming at the mouth to pick up up a washed up DE, that position is so expendable it's not worth the headache dealing with someone that not only showed he's declining talent wise and injury prone, but he also has a suspension ready if he do ever get signed to a team, so any team strategically looking to use him to expose the Saints Offense or Defense will need to sign him 4 games before we play them otherwise he's pretty much useless.
I heard he was interested in signing with the Saints to be with his hometown team and to get back at the Saints 2 times a year, probably would only be good to the Falcons for sharing Saints Lockerroom, and Coaching material for his feed his kids foundation.

Re: charles grant?

He won't be playing the first four games. We know that. He'll have to sit and wait for a team that needs him. After there starter get hurt.

Re: charles grant?

Bet he goes to Tampa or Atlanta.

I heard that he is in the process of opening up Krispy Kreme, somewhere in Slidell. That's just a rumor though....

Re: charles grant?

The Saints didn't want to talk too much about it but the word is that Grant was tired of playing DE and wanted to switch back to RB like the old days...Al Davis promised him a shot but so far no word out of Oakland.

He wants to open one up or help shut one down? ha!

No, seriously though - if he stays in shape he's worth a mid-season pickup...assuming he's available.

And if he's willing to play for back-up money, I'll take him back here immediately.

Second that!! At the right price, he's better than many on our own roster. Plus he can play DE & DT

I wouldn't mind bringing him back at the right price. Did Loomis write that contract?
