I gave my theory about the Saints secretly scheming to trade away Lance Moore already on the last thread here about the Roy Hall signing...

This signing of 2 more WR's to the roster makes it look all the more possible now, doesn't it? I'm just saying...

Saints signed WR Larry Beavers.

Beavers (5'10/186) was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Panthers last year after running a 4.37 forty at Delaware. While former Blue Hen does possess intriguing kick-return skills, he won't make a crowded roster in New Orleans.

Tanner invited to Saints rookie camp

Although he hasn’t been signed yet, one of Midwestern State’s all-time best receivers will get a chance with the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints.

Wide receiver Andy Tanner, who holds or shares six MSU receiving marks after his tremendous 2009 senior season, has been invited by the Saints to their rookie camp scheduled to begin on May 7.

“It’s actually more like a tryout camp, and if I do good they’ll sign me,” the 5-11, 185-pounder said. “That’s all I can ask for is to get a shot.

“They can see me run their plays and schemes, and it will give them a better opportunity to see how I’ll do.”

According to James Varney of The Times-Picayune in New Orleans, Saints coach Sean Payton said when the NFL draft concluded Saturday evening that the team would bring in somewhere between 12 and 15 undrafted free agents. Those who do not have conflicts with the end of school should participate in the Saints rookie camp on May 7.

Tanner got his call from the Saints late Saturday night.
