3+ million isn't respect? Brown would have a long term deal if (a) he wasn't injured and hadn't missed the entire season and the Saints hadn't won a Super Bowl without him and (b) the NFL labor situation wasn't what it is currently.

Respect my . Brown got his feelings hurt, and now he's playing RT for a different team for the SAME money. Eff Brown...

i came after he had already signed with tampa....i was and am still pissed about how that went down because we are not willing to pay the players that have earned the money.....i feel like thats why teams like the lakers, dallas, indy, etc continue to have success while teams that arent willing to spend win a championship and then fade into nothing again

What does anyone really 'deserve' in the NFL, anyway?? He played. He was payed. He couldn't play, he wanted more pay (and a long term deal) and the organization had other priorities...

Maybe he should've taken a page from Payton when it comes to sacrificing salary for the greater purpose.
perhaps.....however that is very rare and even tho payton was willing to do it to save his job, brown knew there would be other opportunities if he wasnt paid the way he wanted.

the issue is that he could play.....he was on IR almost the entire season because he was injured....but during that time he got to watch the debacle at LT every game and he knows as well as anyone that bushrod wasnt doing the job that the team needed week in and week out

That's what I felt when we drafted all of our late round and UDFAs who are now starters and in the Probowl....
success on offense in the later rounds.....no success on defense in the later rounds

lol....brown deserved whatever he wanted.....sitting the entire year should've shown that bushrod wasnt cut out to play the position and if the season had ended any other way than it did we wouldnt be talking about how good bushrod did

bushrod wasnt the reason we won the super bowl and if anything, he hurt our chances at winning.....but our team was complete and we were able to beat a team that was 1 dimensional

its jaw dropping that nobody has gone back to watch bushrod play yet everyone continues to build him up like he did anything spectacular or above average.

you're mad at brown because he wanted more money and held out.....that happens every year on every team.....this is the first time its happened to us with a big name player.......it looks to me like everybody is upset that we lost brown so you are using a defense mechanism to talk yourself out of thinking its a loss

"deal with it or you can go play the saints and get trounced by 30 and you won't have to worry about it."-colin cowherd

Deserved what he wanted? Man I know you don't mean that, and if you do you are severely misguided. TO deserves whatever he wants too? Please...

How many one-dimensional teams did we beat last year? Man, the league was FULL of those one-dimensional teams last year eh? Oh, and would the person that proclaimed Bushrod as the reason we won the super bowl please raise his or her hand, cause I know I didn't say that.

its jaw dropping that nobody has gone back to watch bushrod play yet everyone continues to build him up like he did anything spectacular or above average.
No, what's jaw-dropping is someone saying a player that missed an ENTIRE season while his team won the damn super bowl deserves whatever he wants. The ONLY player the Saints have that deserves whatever he wants would be Drew Brees.

Huh? I'm using a what? A defense mechanism? To do what? Put the pipe down man. Brown wanted out, and he didn't get a better deal where he landed. He was pissed off, not me. Please come to terms with that before you respond. Good lord...

C'mon Man...

Bushrod played in three games prior to starting this past season. He played well at times and had issues with a few of the premier DE's in the NFL... so what? who doesn't?

He's obviously a guy that the coaches believe in and weighed his "worth".

Coaching staff intact.
Offense intact.
Secondary intact.
Great punter and kicker.
We drafted to build both lines.

D line needs attention.

C, you act like we let half the team walk...We signed two D lineman and drafted quality players. How is that a lack of progress?
