If Eli has a tenth of the poise, leadership and never say die that Peyton showed tonight, we'd have a franchise quarterback to be proud of.

That was un-friggin-believable! One of the best games I've ever seen. Peyton gave a clinic on leadership tonight. I couldn't be happier for Dungy either. I felt like he got the shaft from Tampa. It was good to see him get to return the favor. You know the crappy part is that in Indy they really don't like having the team. WTH?!?!

Anyone else who starts comparing Brooks to Peyton needs a CAT scan ..... soon. But then again, I don't guess that lobatomies are reversible. Right now it looks like the AFC championship boils down to the Cheifs and the Colts.

PS, that Lise Guerrerro is a peach isn't she?

Maybe it\'s just me, but I don\'t understand why we need Eli? I can understand why we want him, and really why the marketing department want him, but don\'t we have other needs? We have Bourman and Brooks as Qb\'s. That is a solid #1 & #2 spot (put them in whatever order you want). Why do we need a new rookie to learn the ropes. Don\'t we have more concerns on the D side of the ball? Shouldn\'t those be addressed first?
I know that Manning name is huge down there, and I know that everyone would cream their shorts to get Eli. But I\'m just wondering if it\'s the best move for the Saints?

She is an abomination. At least Melissa Stark was beautiful and knew who the hell she was interviewing.
As far as Eli, I don’t know, you scrap the QB position, and you’re basically starting over, asking the fans to give you another 3 years. Whereas, I look at a team, like the Cowboys for example, and see a good head coach and the effect he has on a sub-standard QB, and it makes me shake my head. Each game it seems as if Quincy Carter is improving, building off the previous win. His completion percentage is not that great, but he hardly makes any errors, and makes the plays needed in order to win. That is what a good head coach will do for you, and I think that is the first position we need to address. Hell, con Gibbs out of retirement if you have to, I think I’m actually jealous of what the Cowboys have accomplished this year, and that is sad that it has come to this.
One of the few things the Saints are known for historically is their tenacious defense. I miss those days. Something about the 3-4 screams \"Badass\".

Well said B&B. I fully agree... I miss Melissa Stark.

Me too! ;)

I used to dream about the two of us naked snuggling up under some blankets next to an open fire...talking football. Best...dream...evah!!!

I liked Melissa Stark too. even though she had man-hands.

Lisa is sexy and sweet. And I love Latino women. Oops does that classify me as a racist bigot homo-phobe sexist pig scum nowdays?

I\'ve read a lot about Lisa and she is quite knowledgable about sports. She made a few blunders early but most likely just because she was nervous.

I\'d be shaking like a cat passing a peach seed.

To answer the original post, next year\'s priority...
2-CB
2-LB
1-DE
1- QB (Only if a Chris Simms type slips)

Looking at the Bucs/Colts game last night I couldn\'t help wondering how much better we\'d be with either of those QB\'s or either of those Coaches.

I fully agree with Tweeky\'s assesment of what we need. I\'m just wondering how our O line will look next year. Is that something else that we will need to focus on, or will they get better with time?

If we are in the position to draft Eli (draft position 1-3) we will have gone something like 4-12 or worse - even including trades. So the team is officially in a rebuild phase. Might as well start with a QB that sells tickets and may become a superstar. I wouldn\'t give up a whole draft for him, but if a reasonable deal or no deal at all is all it takes to get him: DRAFT ELI.

Look how Leftwhich is playing for Jax. Listen, even Manning struggled his first year. We should do the same thing that the Jets did with Pennington. Let Bouman start the first year and start grooming Eli. We haven\'t had a franchise qb since Archie, how ironic would it be that his son would be our second.
