Instead of Betts, why didn't we bring in White???
this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Why didn't the front office contact Lendale White to come in for a work out? He is younger than Betts, has worked side by side Reggie, and is a P.T. style runner....

Instead of Betts, why didn't we bring in White???
Why didn't the front office contact Lendale White to come in for a work out? He is younger than Betts, has worked side by side Reggie, and is a P.T. style runner.

White signed with the Broncos yesterday or earlier today. Besides that, he's never been accused of being a character guy. Pete Carroll traded for him and cut him almost immediately. That's all I need to know.

We have always tried to sign high character guys when possible. Why lower our standards now?

I still want us to bring Jamal Lewis in for a look. I always loved the way he runs and I think he might have a little left in the tank if he gets to run behind an O-line as good as our.

It doesn't cost anything to bring him in for a work out and meet the coaching staff. If we are going to bring in someone like Betts, what do we have to lose by bringing him in? Nothing, maybe the cost of a flight and dinner at Delmonicos. Always have to keep your options open in training camp, you don't know what might come across. |

I disagree. I see very little similarity in Lendale and Pierre. White is probably no better than Lynell Hamilton.
Loomis and company wanted Betts several years ago but the Skins said NFW. |
