Our Backup QB's

After watching our backups last game, i realized that i was alot more confident than i thought with the guys we have behind brees. Chase Daniel really can't be blamed for the pick, in my opinion it was an awesome throw, billings just couldnt hold on after the hit, it happens. He looked pretty poised in the pocket and was making an array of throws. Ramsey played alot better than i thought he would, firing passes all over the field.
My question is, by the start of the season who do you think will be the number 2 on the depth chart.
If Chase gets more time the next couple of games i think he could backup brees pretty solidly.
What does everyone else think?

Unless of a major meltdown, I have to say Ramsey. There is no way Sean Payton is going to trust the backup job to such a young QB. At least not with a Super Bowl contending team.

I think at this point, Daniel has at least played well enough to convince the Saints they should keep 3 QB's.

Ramsey may be the 2010 #2, but Daniel looks like a solid prospect for 2011 and beyond.

Its still early tho.

Its just the first Preseason game. I agree Danno.

There was something I noticed about Daniel that stood out to me. Besides his passes being pretty crisp, he seemed to show a sense of confidence in the pocket. His footwork looked really good as he bounced around a little back there, but did not get happy feet like I saw with Ramsey once or twice. He seemed to have pretty good command of his offense. I'm not in any way comparing him to Drew Brees, but you can definitely tell that he has been studying his film and seems to be emulating his style quite a bit. If you're going to learn, why not learn from the best, right?
