Saturday night in the Superdome was a sight to be remembered. Sure it was only a preseason game and won't go down in the record books as much of anything, but it was still a very special evening. For the first time, the New Orleans Saints stepped onto their home field of the Superdome as the defending Super Bowl champions.
The "Who Dat Nation" was out in full force as over 70,000 showed up for this preseason game against the Houston Texans which saw the Saints play much more like the champions from last year. Game one of the preseason saw a very sloppy performance that ended in a loss. That loss included bad special teams, poor offensive play, and horrible tackling.
Week two of the preseason saw the Saints pull out a 38-20 victory over the Texans in a game that was owned by potential back-up quarterback Chase Daniel. Daniel had the performance of his young career and showed that he is going to take the back-up competition with Patrick Ramsey to the limit. The Saints really did improve and this victory included much better offensive play, overly improved tackling, and special teams that...well, that were still poor.
Let's take a quick look at the players and stats that stuck out tonight for the Saints:
~ Player of the Game: Chase Daniel - without a doubt this was the awakening for him. After an overly sub-par training camp, Daniel appeared destined for .... Kickoff and punt coverage need a great amount of work! we were giving up way to much field position and its make the D look bad if they give up a TD on a short field.

Adrian Arrington, man i wish this kid can make the team. I know most of us thinks he has a injury bug. Some of us thinks we can trade for him.
I think this guy will be the next Joe Horn type of player down the road. He'll end up with someone else and be a all star for them. He might not make the pro bowl. But still will end up a very good player. Just my thoughts.

I have been pulling for Arrington now for two years. I just sincerely hope he can find some way to get on the team. Hell, even just staying healthy may get him a roster spot.

I like him AA as well. Sure hope he don't end up as trade bait.

thinking the same thing strato. the trade value for wide reciever could twofold if it were a lance moore or devery henderson. and you could bet it would be for a young defensive lb or a big run stuffer. ( hate the way teams just run in tds from 8-10 yards out.) and could help in special teams. its just awesome the talent this team has at wr. colston, henderson, meachum, moore, a. arrington,c roby, r. harper. i've been thinking this for awhile could it happen or who would get cut and who stays. then all the waivers the have to pass to get put on p. sqaud then they get plucked anyway. ala p.j hill in 09

thats the fact jack!!!!!

Arrington is certainly popular with the fans. I see him being dangled as trade bait for a DT or possibly a LBer. We desperately need a DT to stop these gashing runs. I won't be the least bit surprised if we do make a trade happen for one of the receivers....and it doesn't have to be AA.
