Thoughts on the game.

Ok. So the offense didn't light up the scoreboard but, apart from a few miscues, I thought we looked good. I LOVED the way the Defense played and was really pleased for Malcolm Jenkins as I thought he stepped into the Free Safety role brilliantly. I wondered where he was on the TD pass to Shiancoe but when I saw the replay I noticed he was over the top of the Wide Receiver that had passed Greer. Our Linebackers were better as a unit and anyone who has misgivings about Shanle should think again as he was solid. Roman Harper was a star and the overall defensive effort I would give an A. I was so pleased that Bushrod had a good game and Allen was kept quiet and, apart from a few times when protection wasn't at it's best, I thought the longer the game went on the more dominant our O-Line got. Our interiors were amazing against that D-Line and looking at this showing I feel that we are on the road to another special season. Garrett Hartley, I was so disappointed but no one can be as disappointed in him as he is. Let's hope he is ready if ever we have the game on the line but I am sure this is just a glitch. There were drops in the offense that would have changed the game immensely and in spite of the score, I wasn't bored (just so damn nervous) as I thought the overall performance was fine. Last word for Adrian Peterson; take a look at interviews you have done and listen to yourself saying WHEN you beat us. It really is hard to play when you have a mouthful of foot!

My thoughts: If the defense is still playing like they did last night when our offense gets going, there will be quite a few blow-outs.

We may not need Hartley too often if they can hold teams to under 20.

On the other hand, our defensive success could be accredited to Favres rough game, but holding A.P. to 91 yards last night was decent. Plus we had quite a few 3 and outs.

The best part was the so-called 4 minute offense. Being able to run for a few first downs at the end of the 4th quarter to keep Favre on the bench and ice the game was priceless. Against one of the better run defenses, when they know what's coming, that's very impressive.

Also, it was nice to see such solid kick return coverage. The Vikes had no decent returns all game.

The high point of the game for me. When you can run on a team late in the 4th quarter to win a game and don't have to put the defense back on the field, you have a GREAT football team. The offensive line on the goal line and in the 4th quarter were pushing the Williams' around. What a sight!!!!

Loved the way our defense played. Very disciplined. I liked how Williams threw off Minny by playing a lot of 3 man rush and dropping 8. You could tell they were expecting heat all the time. The defensive game plan was good and so was the tackling. On offense we did very well but the disappointments were the drops and the missed FG's. Wasted opportunities, but our second half defense made it a moot point absolutely shutting down Minny, helped out greatly by the inability of Childress to coach. Peterson was so effective early why would you take the ball out of his hands? I loved the way we overtook the game late and kept the ball out of their hands.

A win is a win. That really is all that matters. Obvious things to work on that is good. You don't want your team feeling like they are complete and can sit back.

Thought 1) Purple looks good lying on green.
Thought 2) Pressure works.
Thought 3) We need to work on linebackers, they are the weakness now.
Thought 4) Way too cute on offense. Bad placalling. Too focused on mixing it up than forcing them to stop successful plays.
Thought 5) Favre looked confused. Ego is a bad thing.
Thought 6) We got very lucky. That game could have easily gone to the Vikes.
