any real news on Reggie?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; OK, I know he has a "broken" fibula but how bad? Total displaced fracture or just cracked or "green-sticked"? Did it require surgery? Did they have to use a steel plate and/or screws? I can't find anything on it....

nfl.com reported yesterday that the Break does not require surgery, it was a clean break so not as bad as originally thought. I don't know if he will be back in 6 weeks as others think, it may ache for a while after and it may be tough for reggie to cut on a dime on it for a while. As soon as Ivory is ready i'd like to see what he can do in the regular season.

If I remember, T.O., when he played for the eagles had that injury late in the season, (December) and also had a severly sprained ankle to go along with it, and returned for the playoffs. If Reggie's is a clean break, he should be back by mid-season, just in time to make our run.

Payton said that Bush should be back in six weeks. Maybe as early as four weeks depending upon how well he recovers. The use of devices such as bone growth stimulators, which are far too expensive for you and I, should help him along. I was so excited to hear it was a break as opposed to knee damage or a high ankle sprain. Those are far more debilitating than a break. Right, poydras?

Definitely. I was very afraid that I'd seen the last of Reggie in black and gold. With what he has, we'll proabably only be without him until November.

The thing is that Reggie is kinda like a nuclear weapon. It's not what you're doing with them, it's the fear of what you CAN do with them. Reggie is the same way. It's not what he does. His career statistics just don't add up to a lot of productivity. With Reggie, it's the fear of what he CAN do. There was a perfect example in the 49ers game. On one play, Reggie took off to the sideline on a swing route and basically just ran off the field. Drew didn't even look at him. Yet, TWO, not one but TWO, 49er defenders followed him all the way to the sideline and were out of the play. That gave our offense a 10 to 9 numerical superiority. When you can count on going 10 on 9 like that, you have a huge advantage!
