But with Thomas and Bush sidelined with injuries, the Saints turned to a couple of lesser-known understudies who helped the Saints to their best rushing game of the season on their way to a 16-14 win against the Carolina Panthers at the Superdome on Sunday.
Ladell Betts and Chris Ivory ignited a sputtering Saints' offense, combining to rush for 114 of the Saints' 121 rushing yards, setting the tone for a smash-mouth victory.
"They played hard," Saints Coach Sean Payton said. "Both are relatively new to our program, and they were a big part of the win."

I think Ivory played good. The only thing is he needs to protect the ball. Betts played good too and made yards when we needed them. They will get better and feel good about our backs esp when PT and RB gets back in the lineup!!

Betts will be the new Bell. Ivory will be back on Practice squad when PT and Bush Return.
