Farewell . . . I enjoyed the ride while it lasted!

I just want to bid farewell to my friends on the B&G. I have enjojoyed some healthy discussion over the years. After participating in the chat during the game Sunday I expressed my opinion of the lack of or poor performance of the team we all love. There are many that have the same sentiments. I and others were called out as "giving up" on the Saints. Nothing could be further from the truth. I, as many others, are frustrated. If I cannot openly express my opinion without being accused of "giving up", not believing or losing faith then I just need to, regrettably, quit participating. I understand some are, not unlike all of us, passionate about the Saints but to call certain ones out because we don't agree with their opinions is unacceptable. I don't think that is what the Halo and the other B&G members want to see this forum turned into. Just my opinion . . . it's been fun!

QBREES9 10-04-2010 11:56 AM

Dude you're not going any where. You have the right to express your Opinion. What do you can what other say or think.

exile 10-04-2010 12:07 PM

So first you give up on the Saints.. then you give up on B&G?:mrgreen:

Seriously though, there will always be different opinions on here or any other forum. And I called the Saints loss from the stands when the Panthers were on the 35 yard line. Only to say "just kidding" two plays later.

Stick around DblBogey. Any guy with the name of my typical score on most golf holes is cool by me!

I, too was one of the doubters yesterday-most of y'all don't know me, but if I can offer a theory as to what was happening-

when you first wake up with a hangover, you usually have a headache- did that really happen? then you sit around sort of mumbling to yourself, until something pisses you off and you yell at everybody you know until you get so tired that you retire into a kind of blissful post-hangover sleep- I think for a lot of us Saints fans yesterday was that final stage in the hangover- I was very unhappy with the way we played yesterday- but now that it's today, and I'm realizing we're sitting 3-1 and atop the NFC- I'm happy as ****.

FireVenturi 10-04-2010 12:11 PM

In the words of the MNF crew......Cmon Man!!! Your not leaving, myself nor the other members of B and G will allow it!!!!!!

papz 10-04-2010 12:12 PM

After 7 years, I can't believe you would leave because of something like this. I have to say I'm a little disappointed... I hope you change your mind but if you don't Bogey, good luck to you wherever you end up. They'll be getting a solid member.

QBREES9 10-04-2010 12:17 PM

Child please. This is your home.

TheOak 10-04-2010 12:19 PM

Just my opinion... here are a lot of jack-azzs (In my opinion) that have thrown the "giving up" on OUR team statement around the past few weeks. I believe there is even a thread about it.

Expressing concern about OUR team is not giving up. Wanting a player replaced is not giving up. Complaining about aspects of OUR TEAM, or OUR game, is not giving up.

Changing your avatar to a star and cheering for Dallas is giving up.

Different people express their frustration in different ways. Some take it out on out Team, some take it out on Fellow Saints Fans!

Scolding your child for doing some wrong is not giving up on him. It is caring, and passionate, and shows you expect better. Kicking him out of the house is giving up.

To the OP. Ignore "Those people", and cling to your guns, religion, and Saints!

Dang... and I thought it was because of the avatars...

Well considering that there was another NFL team out there....

Saints could be 0-4 as easy as 4-0. You could make a valid argument either way. This reflects little as being a fan. Passionate fans are the most critical.

Bogey, if you're looking for sympathy... well... I though being a Saints fan meant having a thick skin. I'd just put people on my ingore list and call it a day. Suprisingly I don't have anybody on my ignore list..... yet. :???:

Wow, what did I miss yesterday??

If you are leaving DblBoogey, I am sorry to see you go. I hope you will reconsider your decision though.

I wore a bag:), but I was at the stadium.

.. and I dont see a problem with people posting there concerns that we are not playing well, even Brees is doing that. Tho I wish someone would point out how lazy Gumbo has been in our last 3 game.

SkyMike's wife still makes him wear a bag. Ask his kids. :nutkick:

Saint_LB 10-04-2010 01:57 PM

Well...I never wore a bag, just brought one to the game a few times. Now she flies on SW airlines for free...bags fly free.

And another thing...when the guys asks, "Can Geico save you 15% on your auto insurance?", and then asks, "Did the little piggy holler "wee, wee, wee all the way home?"...my answer?

It depends on which little piggy you're talking about. One of them went to the market, and another chose to say home...while another had roast beef and still another didn't get any roast beef...so, again, "Which little piggy are you referring to?"

Don't say can't say I'll try. That's what my little niece says when she feels discouraged.

See what winning does to people.

It happens every year here actually. You get the ones who come here thinking we have a shot and a couple of bad games they drop like flies and you never hear from them again or until the start of the next season.

And then you have the people that never leave.

48 years old. Have always been a Saints fan. WILL never give up on them. Have taken too much $h*t off of Cowboy fans up here in N. Louisiana over the years to give up on them. We are stuggling a little, but it is early in the season, we are 3-1 and our injured players should be back for the stretch run. WHEN we start rolling again, people will forget about the 1st 4 games.

lynwood 10-04-2010 02:56 PM

So what if someone disagrees with your opinion. It's a discussion and unless they ban you from having an opinion that doesn't attack someone then you are fine. But you won't find a better board in my opinion and unless you give up posting all together you'll always have someone with a difference of opinion or is critical about something someone says.

xan 10-04-2010 03:08 PM

I always wonder about people who leave notes before they commit "suicide." There's never a good excuse and that excuse is always a complete distortion of reality. A more impactful way to depart is to just leave.

Be well in your solitude.

Resolution

Ok, I was at the game yesterday so I wasn't in Live chat. I read the transcript, spoke to everyone involved.

Some people PM'd others and I think dblbogey fells he's staying, as we all want him to.

I'm going to close this thread ONLY because it's about to get hijacked.

Thanks to everyone for coming together.

dblbogey, the consensus is we want you to stay! We love ya!

PEACE
