Best WR on the team right now

I think everyone can guess who I am voting for......

Halo 11-01-2010 02:24 AM

Lance Moore, only Saints WR who has played with any consistency this season.

jeanpierre 11-01-2010 06:27 AM

Opponents key on Colston; other WR haven't been stepping up...

Just like AZ with Fitzgerald; with Boldin gone, Breaston having been out, Fitz has been shut down...

Fitz had two TD yesterday once Breaston kept opponents D honest...

Moore, Meachem showed up and PRESTO, Colston not getting smothered...

It is true.........and Colston still finds a way to catch some amazing balls. It is truly nice to see Moore stepping up like he is.

Yes he does.... While dripping balls that hit him dead in the hands.. He is almost like the Hartley of receivers.

The "How did he miss that?" is used often for both players.

dizzle88 11-01-2010 08:46 AM

Its easily lance moore because he is the guy that no matter what the situation he comes up with the big catches, lets take a test sample -
February 2009, desperatley needing a 2 point conversion, Lance balancing on his head, makes a great grab and extends the ball over the goal line.
3 and bout 6 yesterday, drag route straight across the middle, money.
Then an amazing catch in the endzone after getting smacked by mr head and shoulders.

QBREES9 11-01-2010 09:10 AM

Lance Moore hands down.

darstep 11-01-2010 09:32 AM

You could have skipped the "right now" part of the question...Moore has always done what he is doing. He just couldn't do it while hurt or standing on the sideline. The boy has skills and heart and doesn't mind taking the hits across the middle. Colston dropped 2, Meachem dropped 1, Shockey dropped 1, ...the Betts drop helped us because it stopped the clock. Where are all these drops coming from. Moore "always" catches the ball with his hands...that seperates him from the rest.

boonedocksaint 11-01-2010 09:36 AM

the only saints wr i have on my fantasy team....lance moore.

MatthewT 11-01-2010 09:42 AM

Lance Moore has been a beast for the Saints. This guy has been lights out in the clutch.

saintsfan1976 11-01-2010 09:54 AM

The thing about Moore is this is no fluke. He's stepped up each year he's been called to.

Excellent route runner. Great hands and play making ability. Love the fire and intensity.

I hope we keep him.

darstep 11-01-2010 10:00 AM

I have been screaming to get him locked down to a long term deal for a while now. Brees loves him, and how can you blame him. Moore catches even the poorly thrown balls and is good after the catch. He's fearless in traffic. Lock him down when Brees gets locked.

ScottF 11-01-2010 10:03 AM

Colston had two drops early in the game, and Henderson, well, is Henderson.

I am going with the Zip

foreverfan 11-01-2010 01:46 PM

Well... who the other team double covers? Colston.

Euphoria 11-01-2010 02:28 PM

Add Randy Moss to the list just in case.

breesfan27 11-01-2010 03:33 PM

They're all pretty damn good to me!

They wouldn't still be with the team if they weren't.

SaintPauly 11-01-2010 03:36 PM

Someone mentioned that Moore is only getting all of these catches, because he is in Reggie's role right now. I don't think this is the case, because no matter who's role he has been put in, he steps up, and makes the most of it. Remember when Colston went down, and Moore was our number one? He tore it up that year. This guy is a freak. He is better, IMO, than Collie, Garcon, or Welker in all aspects of the position. Have you watched him block??? He is a small guy, but he puts pads to people, when he needs too.

This x 1000

2008 colston goes down with broken thumb, then moore sets a team record for 6 straight games with a TD, finished with about 950 yards and 10 TD's for the season. Only reason he didn't do alot last season was because of the injuries he had.

Rugby Saint II 11-01-2010 07:54 PM

Right now it's Moore. He is clutch. That catch in the end zone was amazing. He just continues to impress me when he's on the field.

TopCow 11-01-2010 08:09 PM

Lance Moore. I have not seen him drop a pass this season. Every other receiver drops at least one per game, some more than one. I have not seen him gain 7 yards on a third and 8. These things are commonplace with other receivers. A major reason that the Saints are in a fight within the NFC South is lack of concentration. If more Moore's focus and intensity were present across the entire offense, we would be undefeated.

Cory9289 11-02-2010 12:05 AM

Moore doesn't just make catches, he makes tippy toe, stop the clock, diving last minute stretch Cris Carter jumping karate kicking spin move Chuck Ladell ball spike catches. O.o

SaintPauly 11-02-2010 12:06 AM

And it's Moore by a landslide!!!

dasaints26 11-02-2010 01:22 AM

By a landslide Colston has more catches. OK I've never seen a landslide he has 17 more catches.

Cali get out and vote on that Prop 19. Maybe in 20 yrs Mississippi will be where you are.

I don't think it took too long to follow suit with the misdemeanor/under oz thing...but I can't remember for sure. We got casinos a lot sooner than most. We are liberals and don't know it.

Danno 11-02-2010 08:39 AM

Colston, but Moore's gaining ground.

Leave it to Danno to get it right...

SaintPauly 11-02-2010 10:21 AM

Right to you LB. Not necessarily the rest of us. :)

SaintsFan1967 11-02-2010 12:28 PM

His TD catch WAS amazing. How many WR's could have made that catch? He was hit by one of the best DB's in the game today. But he kept his eye on the ball and made the catch. I am amazed with this guy's intensity, and selfsacrifice.

Not the year that Colston was out for a bunch of games (2008?) Moore was unreal that year.
I really like Colston but dude has been making Henderson look good with his drops.

Moore gets my vote right now. Colston is my favorite WR just 'cause big fella is a stud and he's like Barry Sanders in the endzone after he scores a TD.

Saint-Paul 11-02-2010 03:52 PM

Moore doesn't drop passes that are in his helmet in big televised games...Colston has dropped easy catches in this game and in the superbowl...Moore gets the edge based on consistency alone...Devery is not even in this discussion at this point...Meachem hasn't gotten a ton of looks and hasn't gotten the separation we've liked...though his separation in the steelers game was huge and very important he is also not in this discussion...Moore gets the nod hands down...for now

st thomas 11-02-2010 10:54 PM

don't get me wrong, i voted colston. basicaly if everyone thinks about this drew will target colston first for the clutch gotta have this man to keep the drive alive. solely on the purpose of his octupus suction cup fingers he usally has working. even when the guy is being harassed hands all over him play. some how he will make the catch. he does sometimes start slow in games like sunday night or the super bowl. he's drews guy and my guy, now lance moore at this moment has made the game dagger, and has managed to get himself open big for huge tds or clutch plays. but sometimes does'nt show at all like others. games like ariz, and browns he was'nt there to save the day. and has had his fair share of drops like colston, and does have the upper hand as better reciever now, so ya'll win

Receivers can only catch when they are in the game or when they are thrown to, but not while standing on the sideline. You can count Moore's career drops on one hand without using your thumb. Colston and Moore should be on the field unless they beckon for a replacement or Payton stacks the tight-ends.

SapperSaint 11-03-2010 07:19 AM

Lance...by a long way, has been more reliable.

DRsaints 11-03-2010 07:31 AM

I definitely have to agree that it's Lance Moore. He has really stepped up when we needed someone to do it.

papz 11-03-2010 09:29 AM

Colston... he's had his fair share of drops, but he's our best receiver. I find that Drew often leads him into positions where if he catches the ball, he's going to get his head ripped off. As many have mentioned, he commands extra attention freeing up other receivers. With Moore coming on as well as Meachem of late, defenses can no longer put that extra attention on him... in turn, we're finally seeing him put up good numbers.

AlaskaSaints 11-03-2010 06:03 PM

Come on, guys, Robert Meachem delivers at the post or the flag. He just needs to be thrown the ball more often. Remember those slant routes last year that were game-winners. It seemed to happen every week!

Taking NOTHING away from Moore, Henderson or Colston, of course and Moore is extremely excitable this year.

You show Meachem a long ball and he'll catch it and SCORE!!

Alaska

Did you see him quit on that route against Cleveland? Cost us a TD.

Danno 11-03-2010 11:12 PM

I think the more valid question is whether Moore has now surpassed Meachem and Henderson as our 2nd best WR.

I think he has.

SaintPauly 11-04-2010 11:40 AM

Well I gotta say, 49 votes for Moore, 22 for Colston. You can't really say it was "close". I do agree, that each receiver compliments the other. (Except for Devery :))
