Time to brag.

Hello all. After having watched a great game by the Saints on the day it happens to be my first Anniversary (living in England, the game started over here on All Saints Day at 0100 hours) I had my gift given to me by my wife. It is a piece of turf from the NFC Championship game last year, authenticated by the Brees Dream Foundation and I just thought I would brag. Might not be much to some, but my wife went through a lot to get it. LUCKY MAN I THINK!!!!!

WHOA! You can buy that? I want one.

Congrats Saint Gup. You know I was there for the NFC Championship, sitting in the Girod St. endzone in our Terrace level seats, which is the side where Hartley kicked the winning fieldgoal.

Congrats again, and Who Dat (and howdy) from Texas.

Actually, I didn't know you could get it but my wife seems to know how to get stuff that I never knew was out there. That must have been a bit special to see that ball sail towards you through the uprights. And thanks for the congrats.

I understand. My wife knows how to get things I dont know anything about, plus, since Im 40-something, and she's about half that, she knows how to operate I-pods, cell phone applications, texting, twittering & facebook, all things mysterious to me. I dont really think she twitters, but ... Im just saying she knows how to do all this new age gadgetry that I dont.

Really, we're kind of cornered a bit toward the LaSalle St. side of the Dome (which is the visitor's bench side. The Fleur De Lis in the middle of the field appears upside down to us.) You actually can judge a FG much easier watching it on tv, than you can live in the stadium, unless you sit near dead center on an endzone. From our seats we can usually judge FGs kicked toward the Poydras St. goal post, but on our own end, the angle is funny. The real bad ones I can tell just like that, like the one he missed earlier this season vs. Atlanta.

So anyway, when Hartley kicked the FG vs. the Vikings, we're all up there standing up in the Terrace level, out of our minds with nerves. Then he kicks it, ---it looked like it was going well, and looked smooth, but I wasnt about to celebrate till I knew for sure. But before it even passed the uprights, suddenly we could see the people down in the Plaza (field level) and Club seats jumping up and screaming like Elvis had just entered the room. And I could swear before the ball even hit the net, the confetti cannons went off, and this huge shower of yellow confetti is shooting about 100 feet up from both sides of the field. Now the Saints fan in me says, "Oh no, Im not sure yet," so I'm looking for penalty flags, replay flags, or any kind of "wait-a-minute's," but then the field was overtaken, and there was no chance anything was getting called back.

... and then I realized we were going to the Super Bowl

The rest of the story you know. ....
