Saints injury report: Tracy Porter and Jabari Greer to return versus Panthers
The New Orleans Saints got some good news on Thursday when both starting cornerbacks Tracy Porter and Jabari Greer participated fully in practice and coach Sean Payton said he expects them to play Sunday when the team travels to Carolina to face the Panthers.
It doesn't look so good though for running backs Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush as they are both expected to miss yet another game due to their injuries. Payton doesn't believe Bush is moving around well enough in the limited practice he has had and Thomas missed practice again completely. In regard to Bush, Payton had this to say:
"He was limited. He’s still not moving the way you’d like but I think he’s making a lot of progress quickly and so each day we try to give him more to do. More than anything, it’s still getting to where he’s real confident and comfortable planting and driving off of that leg. But he certainly did more today than he did yesterday or up until now."

This is great news, can't wait to see these guys back out there, and with sharper in the backfield expect some picks fellow Who Dats!!
I'm expecting even more aggressive defensive play-calling over what we saw Sunday night.
I have a hard time seeing the Panthers having a good amount of offensive production if the rush D is as stout as it was against the Steelers, minus the 38 yard TD run of course.
Saints' Bush making progress; Greer, Porter expected to return
METAIRIE, La. -- Reggie Bush was limited during Saints practice on Thursday, raising his prospects for getting back in the lineup for the first time since breaking a bone in his lower right leg in the second game of the season.
"It felt pretty good - still a little bit of pain there, but nothing that I couldn't handle. Nothing that wasn't expected," Bush said. "We'll just keep pushing every day and see what happens at the end of this week."

Head coach Sean Payton stopped short of saying he thought Bush would be ready to go by Sunday's game at Carolina.
"He's still not moving the way you'd like, but I think he's making a lot of progress quickly, and so each day we try to give him more to do," Payton said. "More than anything, it's still getting to where he's real confident and comfortable planting and driving off of that leg. But he certainly did more today than he did yesterday or up until now."
The Saints have a bye after Sunday's game against Carolina, but Payton had said this week that players healthy enough to suit up will do so as opposed to getting extra rest until after the bye.

Glad to see Porter and Greer back. Please don't rush Reggie or PT back before the Dallas game - selfish of me to say, but I want us at 100% for a Dallas revenge beat down.
We've got deep talent in defense right now, starters or not. I love seeing these guys come back to full play, but it's going to bump hard-playing non-starters back to the sideline.
I think we shoud approach these DB's the same way we approach the receivers: We have good ones AND we have LOTS of them. And we rotate them often so the opposing defense NEVER is sure of who is getting the ball. A receiver will never be able to pattern the play of our DB's and that's a GREAT thing.
I mean, Robinson, as a rookie plays as hard as any veteran we've ever seen. He doesn't have the stat's yet, but given playing time and the right tutilege (sp?) he will become another Tracy Porter.
AND I WANT TRACY PLAYING!
So confused! With all these players coming back and I feel like we've got great talent right NOW!
Love this board. Glad I found it!
