Saints vs. Panthers: Do We Really Have To?

As if this game weren’t annoying enough the first time around, here we are playing the Panthers…again. This match-up happened so recently that my nails still haven’t recovered from all the biting that took place in the 4th quarter…against the freakin’ Panthers….sigh. So what, now I’m supposed to get amped for this again, huh? I mean, that’s my job as the chick who calls herself the “ultimate Saints fan.” I’m supposed to be excited about EVERY Saints game because it’s football…right? Well you know what folks, I’m gonna be honest here. I want nothing to do with this Panthers game.

It should be a blowout, which would make it good but not exciting because well, it’s what the game should be. And if it’s close, that’s even worse. That means I once again have to use up all sorts of energy trying to will the Saints to barely beat a team they should have easily clobbered. I’m just ready to get to the bye week. Alas, here’s my breakdown.

The Panthers Suck

Their quarterback, defense and special teams suck.

The Saints Are Better

Refer to statement above.

That’s all I got, peeps. The Saints will win this one because the Saints can’t lose this one. And if whoever possessed Drew Brees and our offense’s souls during that Browns game were to make a comeback on Sunday, I suggest every player on the roster go into hiding during that bye week…and beyond.

Nola Chick’s Prediction:

Saints: 24
Panthers: 13

I keep waiting for that massive blowout as well... and waiting...
It needs to happen in a division game in order that we my recover some lost respect and confidence.

It's amazing that we can't look beyond these trivial games by now. I don't feel any momentum whatsoever and we'll need that going into the bye.

I'm calling it Saints 31, Panthers 7.

It's going to be close, Saints haven't found a way to distance themselves like last year, and we still don't have all the weapons as we had last year back to do it either.

I'll be in the stadium and I fully expect the Saints to complete this game with finality. I'm tired of having to worry about the kitty cats and I am ready for us to make the statement to all those haters and doubters that WE are the World's Champions. Enough said. Do the D***n thing.

I am dreading this game. The only thing the panthers have to look forward to this season is to mess up division mates' seasons. One more loss to the dregs of the league would make playoff possibilities less likely. Gotta take care of business.

Payton and GW will have the team ready for this game. We are about to get into a winning rhythm.

If they have any sense we'll be watching Gregg Williams' future team today.

Good call Alaska! 34-3. It was played with heart. It was sooo great being there and watching the Panther fans leaving before the end of the 3rd quarter. Had the whole section to ourselves and the other Saints fans!

I agree. It was amazing. For the last 5 minutes, you looked around the stadium and all you saw was Who Dats.

Our section was almost entirely Saints fans. We had four or five whole rows. What was even funnier was that when a fight almost broke out, security knew that it was the Panthers fans starting it.
