Negitive/Realists tend to be the type of person who likes to play it safe. These people aren\'t willing to be positve about much. They are the \"Show Me\" type of person who needs proof. These folks never really put themselves into a position to be proved wrong, because they like to fall under the \"Realist\" catogory.
I think that would be describing me. I\'m a show mw kinda guy after all these years. Something about being a fan of this team since 1967 does that to you. :P

Just curious. Was anyone in here calling for coaches and players to be cut or fired? I\'m sure that didn\'t happen here, but I have seen some fans do that when a team didn\'t start the season out like they wanted.

Is this sarcasm from the Rook?

If the Saints don\'t make the playoffs then Haslett should be fired. (And it doesn\'t matter to me if they miss by an inch or a mile). I am REALISTIC enough to know that if this team finishes 8-8 that probably won\'t happen. Haslett will be given another year and another chance.

I\'ll tell you what Saintfan. You say come out and say that the Saints WON\'T make the playoffs, then I\'ll come out and say that they will. Otherwise, leave an old man alone. I\'m just trying to let you guys know where we stand. If you clowns want to root for Tampa, go right ahead. Hope for the Bucs to push us farther out of the playoff picture.

You\'re an old man too Whodat? I thought 08 was the only one, but there was another all this time...well well well...

That explains a lot! I will only go so far as to say the Saints have a difficult road ahead if they are to make the playoffs, but I can\'t say they won\'t. I will not...not as long as there is hope...it springs eternal didn\'t ya know Whodat?

C\'mon man...get off the Kool-Aid and try the Positive point of view for a few games.

I think the job Haslett has done since the 1-4 start has been outstanding. I understand the collapses and everything else. But, the way he has rallied this team has impressed me. If you want another coach, I can understand that. I\'ll wait and see what happens.

As far as the playoffs go............. I strongly believe that we are capiable of winning ALL of our games. You might say that isn\'t realistic and maybe it\'s not, but there is not a team on our schedule that you can realistically tell me we don\'t have a realistic chance at beating. Just keep this in mind. There will be a team that has a losing record that will make it to the playoffs. Realistically speaking. Why not us. Why not believe. Strange things happen after the break. Sometimes good and sometimes bad. With Darren Howard and some other injuried players coming back -- I\'m feeling good about it. If you were coach of another team -- Would you want to face the Saints if your playoff life depended on it?

Man, the Rook is as crazy as this one guy I remember who used to post here. He got booted though. Watch out Rook, you don\'t want the same to happen to you! LOL

Would you want to face the Saints if your playoff life depended on it?
Not at all. But saying we\'re dangerous, hell saying we\'ve got a shot at a wild card, and scoffing b/c I\'m not printing my New Orleans Saints 2003 NFC South Championship shirts are different things.

You might say that isn\'t realistic and maybe it\'s not, but there is not a team on our schedule that you can realistically tell me we don\'t have a realistic chance at beating.
Again, damn right. We CAN beat everyone left on our schedule. But I don\'t think there is a team this year that we\'ve played that we COULDN\'T have beaten. Obviously, some people on this board have forgotten why the Saints official motto is \'Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda\'.

There will be a team that has a losing record that will make it to the playoffs. Realistically speaking.
If 08 is selling Kool-Aid, then this \"new\" guy is peddling Tang. Are you nuts? So you\'re telling me that only ONE of these teams is going to be better than 8-8?

Philly 5-3
St Louis 5-3
NYG 4-4
Green Bay 4-4
Tampa 4-4
New Orleans 4-5
San Fran 4-5

Pass the Tang man, b/c I\'m failing to see the logic or even wishful thinking that goes behind saying that between Philly, St Louis, the Giants, Green Bay, Tampa, San Fran, and the Saints, only ONE of those teams will have a winning season. Oh, that\'s the same logic that says that the 6-2 Panthers are going to end up 6-10 and the 4-5 Saints are going to end up 11-5. <takes another sip of the Tang> Makes sense to me.

C\'mon man...get off the Kool-Aid and try the Positive point of view for a few games.
Everyone here knows that I aim to please (hehehe), so for Saintfan\'s pleasure, I guarantee that the Saints will not lose this week! LOL. Hey man, I might even guarantee a win next week. Just pass the Tang and I\'ll promise a Super Bowl victory for the next ten years running with McCarthy as head coach and Venturi at runningback.

Ok. Alright. But, if the Saints can go 5-1 in to close out the season. We will be 10-6. I think 10-6 WILL make it. Are you forgetting we play most of those teams? No tang here. Just some good ole fashioned faith in this team. I think you predicted a loss against the Bucs too?
