Thought he was always a member of the Dome patrol. He did go to the Panthers later in his career and Carolina helped build their franchise around him like a hero... which I don't have a problem with but he is known for his play as a field general with the Saints.

I know Jessica Holly, the chick on the WGNO news...took her to a dance in high school - and yes, I'm bragging. LOL. You guys want to start an online petition or something? Maybe we can get her to do a quick blurb or get their sports people involved?

This really should happen.

WOOOOW, Jessica Holly! Good job!!!

I think it would be cool to get fans energized to get some type of statue or Honor of our great Dome Patrol..
We also need to have our Superbowl legends in future immortalization somewhere around the city as well.

I say set up a petition and lets run it through the Saints fans sites, get Fox 8 *Which is owned by the Benson family* and lets see what can be done.

A petition would be great but even better would be collecting. Take a bucket with a lid and slice a narrow hole in the lid. Then stand outside the Superdome on a gameday and ask passers by for $1. Most anybody could afford to donate a dollar and I bet that would draw a lot of money. If you would have some money to begin with I bet a petition would go a lot easier. With that said I would like a statue of Mr Benson too. And I would like it befor he passes, he's getting up there in age.

W.T. Sherman is my favorite General. After all he did order Atlanta to be burned to the ground.

Panthers fans know about as much about football as the pope knows about the female body. Living in N.C. The past couple years, I have learned that. They have terrible fans, and I dislike them very much. Could be that I am around a lot of them. Go boo yourselves kittens.

It's difficult to generalize fans. There are some Saints fans representing our beloved team as jack wagons just like any other team. I remember the Saints going to Carolina after the storm and most of the fans in the stadium were very supportive and classy.

That said, I loathe Seattle fans...

If we are going to have the Dome Patrol, which I whole heartedly agree with, then I'm going to have to throw in Archie Manning as well. This man not only carried the entire franchise on his back for many years, he has also been an ambassador, and patriarch of the city of New Orleans itself his entire life. I have never met the man, but I have alot of love for him, and his entire family. Number 8, will always be my hero. But I'm down for whatever you guys want to do. Let me know.
