Saints Defense Top 10?

After the Minnesota game I asked the question do the Saints have a top 10 defense. Well after 9 weeks it sure looks like we're better that that.

We are number 5 in scoring defense allowing 16.8 points per game.
We are number 3 in total yardage allowed allowing 277 per game.
We are number 1 in total passing yards allowed 166.3 per game.

And we weren't even healthy. All I can say is wow. I still think we have the best team in the NFL. I can't wait until RB and PT are back full strength. LOOK OUT NFL.

We're hitting hard out there and playing with a lot of swagger. I would have never imagined our defense being ranked this high midway into the season. Our quality of opponents haven't exactly been top notch for the most part, but it's still very very impressive.

I think quality of opponent will go up after the Browns beat the Pats.

if nothing else it helps that most ridiculous of all stats: strength of schedule.

In other words, because the Browns beat the Pats, we are a better team

Even more telling are the smaller metrics, like 1st downs allowed, penalty yards, Time of Possession allowed, 3rd down conversion % are all top 5 as well. This is a very scary defense.

If we make the playoffs, I doubt seriously anyone wants a 1st round matchup much less a 2nd. Though a bye would be nice

Come on Baltimore! Beat the Dirty Birds!
Come on Panthers! Get up off the Mat!
