METAIRIE, La. -- Darren Sharper usually spends his Sunday preparing for a game, running through the routines that have brought him through 13-plus seasons.

But this Sunday, his 35-year-old frame will spend the bulk of the day on the couch instead of on the field.

The Saints (6-3) have a bye and he’s alright with that.

“Sunday you’re just naturally going to watch games,” Sharper said. “I don’t know if I’m going to pay too much attention to the teams in our division. I don’t know who they’re matched up against. But just naturally whatever game comes on I probably will watch it. Sunday is a time to sit back on the couch.”
