At the oppiste end of the locker room, as a swarm of reporters waited to interview free safety Darren Sharper strong safety Roman Harper grabbed a microphone and began the Q and A session. Sharper was clearly testing his teammate’s ability an interrogator.
Harper: “This is Roman Harper reporting live, well, not live, but live on TV, inside the Saints locker room in Metairie, Louisiana. I’m here with Darren Sharper. Hello. The first question of the day that we have is, “How does it feel to be back in the starting lineup?” Sharper: “Fine.” Harper: “I think you played great. Next question: Darren about your overall performance you had the little injury thing, how did you come out of that?” Sharper: “OK.” Harper: “You have a bye week coming up, some time to spend with kids. What are your plans for the bye week?” Sharper: “Rest.” Harper (embellishing): “He’s going to rest, get back to the house, take it easy. He’s going to have a great time, watch some movies, have some popcorn.” Sharper: “Yes.” Harper then turned the questioning over to the reporters and walked away. Sharper praised Harper’s effort, saying he might have a future in television when his football career is over. Sharper then stuck a verbal needle in his graying teammate, saying, “but you might need a little coloring in your hair.” Harper, who’s eight years younger than Sharper, responded by saying, “at least I’ll have mine.” New Orleans Saints Notebook: Defending champions think best yet to come after bye Last edited by Saintswrath; 09-10-2013 at 04:56 AM.. |
