Saints | Pierre Thomas could miss a few more weeks

New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas (ankle) could be out for a few more weeks because of his ankle injury, reports Jason La Canfora, of NFL Network.

Jeff Duncan tweeted he was going to practice today.

Saintswrath 11-17-2010 08:03 PM

Well the day is over and he didn't practice, which is unfortunate.

Jason La Canfora...

He'll be back before the season is over with; his career depends on it.

You can't get paid...... if your butts not on the field.

dont know about if hes wrong or right. he does like the saints more than most media people though. so by default i have to like the guy.

To be fair, Jason La Confora is a good guy (I preferred Adam Schefter on NFL Network before) He seems to get most things right as he doesn't post many articles that are based on rumours, he waits till he has the facts to prove it.
And yer Ron, he does like the saints a little, so the guy is cool lol

This is not quite accurate. The injury status of Did Not Participate refers to 11-on-11 drills only. It doesn't not apply to other phases of the practice session. Brees said he spent part of last week running pass drills with Bush and Thomas. I would expect that Thomas was working out even if he didn't take part in the 11-on-11's.

Damn, did he get his foot cut off .... you would think he'd be back by now

it sounds good to me. i'd rather see p.t. hitting real players than dummies because it can help a player remember about fumble precautions. but p.t. really handles the ball well.

Amen! Reggie broke his freakin leg and he will return first.

Yeah, Yeah, I know bone and soft tissue injuries are different but c'mon man!

We need PT back. No one else seems to be able to run the screen like he can.

That is a big reason why the offense is struggling IMO.

Latest word on Thomas is good ...

Payton: Pierre Thomas has 'turned a corner'

Coach Sean Payton expressed optimism for the first time on Pierre Thomas' ankle, suggesting that "we've turned a corner."

Thomas was officially a non-participant once again for Thursday's practice. He's been in full pads and taking part via individual drills, though he's not been included in team drills or full-speed activities. Thomas won't play against the Seahawks, but he's made encouraging progress in the past week and a half. There's a chance that he'll play next week.

He'll be placed on IR next week.;)

The bottom line is that no one really, really, seems to know exactly whats going on here. I know all injuries are different and some take longer to heal that others etc. etc. but, as has already been said, it seems to be taking soooooooooooooooooooooooo long for this "sprained ankle" to get sorted out!

neugey 11-18-2010 04:20 PM

His ankle is healing about like a Donte Stallworth hamstring.

I guess on a positive note, if he manages to stay off IR, which I still believe he may be headed there, could be a big boost for the late season.

Yer exactly.
For Seattle game least we have got Bush (limited) Ivory should be full, JJ ( I like what he brings) and......betts....
I expect Ivory and Jones to get the bulk of the carries, Betts looks done to me, least when PT comes back late on we will have a healthy backfield.
