3:00 PM START IS KILLING ME

Idon't know about you guys but i'm chomping at the bit so to speak on sundays late start. i wonder if it affects our guys mojo on a sunday in town. what about coming off a bye starting at 3:00? i just don't like it.

Halo 11-18-2010 02:19 PM

Not a fan of them myself.

st thomas 11-18-2010 02:35 PM

may have to sip a scotch on the rocks just to get to game time.

Crusader 11-18-2010 03:29 PM

I don't like it because it gets helladamn late before the game is over over here.

SaintFanQ 11-18-2010 03:57 PM

Same here also!

neugey 11-18-2010 04:02 PM

3pm works better for me so I'm glad. I have to run the kids to choir Sunday late in the morning, so football starting at noon is a total crunch.

|Mitch| 11-18-2010 04:02 PM

I'm not a fan of the late game either; but it is what it is.

Ashley 11-18-2010 04:31 PM

I did like it a little better when i was hung chow after the lsu party days.
but for now, not at all.

RaginCajun83 11-18-2010 04:40 PM

we can't make the roadie from Houston this week cause of the start time

LivnaLieTimay 11-18-2010 05:07 PM

I usually hate the 4pm games but because of the start time us fans up here in NY get the game so I'm not complaining. Anytime I can avoid going to a bar to watch the game is a win in my book.

Hey Q. Just curious, but I am assuming they offer a "Sunday Ticket" or something similar to receive the NFL games in England. Is that so?

MatthewT 11-18-2010 05:49 PM

For the most part I prefer the noon kickoff times. However, this particular weekend, the 3pm is going to work. Got a lot of stuff to do this coming Sunday, should be done in time for the late afternoon kickoff time. What I dislike is when they play on Sunday or Monday Night. Those games are kind of tough on me since I am usually in bed for 9... LOL

cmon lightweight! hahaha.... you can do it. Drive behind me, and I'll pull you. you can go to sleep. Woooooooooooooooooo! I cant wait. chit, I dont need to sleep before monday am drive. Its not like I make sense on the FM anyway.

we're leaving saturday evening, and I dont know what if we're going straight to NOLA, or if we're gonna do some swamp stuff, or what. I personally want oysters and a hurricane, and to hear some live bands.

oh, the thread....

umm Are yall kidding? I guarantee our record is better for 3pm games. We're over our hangovers, and by 3pm, we're raising hell again. Its like a night game, by the 2nd Quarter, and I guarantee,
you dont want to play the Saints at home at 3pm.

So what if Im back in Houston at 1am? Traffic dies down nicely after 10pm, so its actually a faster drive back. And Sunday morning, we dont have to get up at the crack of the morning, so there's more quality time with the Lady.

3 oclock game!
Lets Rooooooock!

darn matt, thought i was old and hurting lol

jeanpierre 11-18-2010 07:19 PM

Late games and prime time is just fine with me...

CAPTAIN 11-18-2010 10:01 PM

I'm loaded heading into the dome for noon kickoffs, not sure how I'm gonna handle the 3pm game.
I've never been to a late Sunday game, only noon kickoffs and Monday nights down there.

This is gonna be rough!

Look for the NJ banner on the wall in the endzone baby!!!

saintsfan601 11-18-2010 10:43 PM

I don't mind either way.I just hate when they don't play.

QBREES9 11-18-2010 11:36 PM

4pm on the east side. The wife will try to make me do a bunch of stuff I don't want to do. Not a Fan of the 4pm games.

niteadept 11-19-2010 05:22 AM

Any time the Saints play is the right time for me. Coming off the bye week, I expect GREAT things for the rest of the season. I know who our MVP is....

504state 11-19-2010 09:35 AM

C'mon guys 3pm games are awesome. I prefer them. Quit being so self centered. 3pm games are probably ALOT louder giving us a better home feild advantage.I will take whats good for the team over what is conveininet for me any day. I have always loved the late games anyway.Gives me time to sleep in and get to the game at my own pace

SaintsBro 11-19-2010 10:12 AM

In terms of crowd noise in the Dome, my feeling on it has always been

7 PM Game > 3 PM game > noon game

Night games are typically the loudest/craziest, and I think the Saints respond to it and play better at night....sometimes I kinda wish they ALL could be night games. The way I look at it, every hour spent drinking before the game, ups the noise potential by +1 dB per fan.

So I like a 3 PM kickoff just fine...gives the fans a chance to get a good leisurely head of steam (or should I say "suds") going before the kickoff... I bet Champions Square will be rocking. Plus, looking forward, a lot of people expect to have a light week at work ahead this next week; that week of Thanksgiving, nothing much ever gets done in a lot of places, so people will be ready to start the party rolling on Sunday.

Rugby Saint II 11-19-2010 10:14 AM

I prefer the 3 oclock games. It gives me a chance to get some things done and prepare the grill for half time. This week I'll be boarding a cruise that leaves a 4 oclock......that sucks. Hopefully I'll be able to get on board in time to watch kick off.

RaginCajun83 11-19-2010 09:15 PM

Mike hahaha light weight my arse, I'm working during this game to be off on Thanksgiving day to watch our boys take over Jerah's world, have fun at the game this weekend

SaintFanQ 11-20-2010 05:35 AM

It is a special package we can purchase from DirecTV that gives us HD access to every game played on Sunday, including a game mix channel showing eight games all on one screen (works well with a very large screen :D ) and the Red Zone channel.

Explained ^. I can tell you - UK doesn't get Sunday Ticket

SaintFanQ 11-20-2010 04:12 PM

Sunday ticket, sigh!!!!!!!!! If only we could get that, it sounds amazing!

The only way I follow the Saints games is by purchasing field pass on NFL.com. Then I can tune into Saints radio and watch the little game graphics on NFL.com at the same time. I must admit I do enjoy the two guys that commentate, they really know their game and are quite entertaining to listen to.

GEAUX SAINTS! WHO DAT!

Probably need a hug after that, huh?

If you can ever get to Shreveport/Bossier in Louisiana I will gladly welcome you into our home and we'll watch a game the right way!

Open invitation.

RaginCajun83 11-20-2010 10:58 PM

My dad follows the team in Lybia, he uses his sling box to watch games, night games kill him cause he gets little to no sleep

SaintFanQ 11-21-2010 09:27 AM

Thanks Guido appreciate the offer!

I have been lucky enough to see some games in the Dome! The first time I visited NO was in 1992 and luckily the Saints had what used to be called a double header, so I managed to see two games. The first being Saints v Dolphins. The "Dome Patrol" sacked Dan Marino 5 times in that game and then the following game we beat the Falcons. I met some great people at that game and have been to see them again since and I have seen a further 6 games. I came back in 1994, 1997 then 2001. The last visit was this year to see the Saints, finally win the Superbowl. I couldn't afford tickets to the actual game so we stayed in the FQ and watched it in a sports bar near Jackson Square. That was a fantastic experience and something I will remember for the rest of my life!
