And who the hell is Jason Kyle again?

D. Flowers 11-20-2010 07:11 PM

Hey man, his job is just as important as any. The only time role players like Kyle get noticed is when they screw up, so the fact that most don't know him is actually a good thing....lol

The long snapper... Oh yea.

Did anybody notice that ESPN rates the Falcons #1?
I guess we can forget kicking FGs this game.

What an odd time for a shoulder injury, for a position that doesn't commonly have injury problems. Hope the new guy does well.

MatthewT 11-20-2010 07:29 PM

Potentially devastating, hopefully the new guy doesn't cause any issues. There is a true reason a long snapper holds a roster spot as a specialist, they are not all that easy to find and extremely valuable.

Right you are. Kyle is solid, and this is the last thing our kicking game needs. Man this sucks. :brood:

Damnit! This is not good at all. Timing in the kicking game is essential and no they'll have to re-learn all that

He was one of the very best in the league.

Certainly not a devestating injury in the big picture, but probably more important than most would think.

finally some solid observations at the end of this thread.

This is a very important position if not the most important other than QB. The guy we signed played for the Pats so we know he's got a brain.

He's the long-snapper for the Seahaks since week 1. Odd huh?

Thanks, didn't know that. I was suprised the kid was cut so early, must have been some other issues. He was supposed to have been the best LS available in the draft.

I suspect Payton and Gresham knew Kyle was a lock for the 53, and Gresham asked to be released in order to catch on elsewhere.

He's actually a hellacious hitter. I believe he caused a big fumble (somebody help me out.) in the 49ers game, that set up a score, and I dont think that was the only one he made this season.

I think we found out yesterday who is not Jason Kyle, as one botched
snap, and then they're also saying the timing caused Hartley's miss yesterday. I still say Hartley sux, but snappers are like certain parts of your body you dont think about, but you're in trouble without them.

If you're serious, Houser got into some kind of locker room dispute with some other Saints players
over a bad investment, (something to do with producing movies) and they thought it would be better if he werent there anymore.

I personally miss the guy, especially after yesterday.

Yes. That was Kyle. What a shame we lost him for the year...

Jason Kyle was one of the last guys at TC signing autographs when practice was over. He's a nice guy. We had time to talk and I told him that I thought he played error free football. This was just after they cut the other long snapper. When I told him that I was glad he made the cut you could see the relief on his face. Bad break for him and us. Hopefully, he'll be back next year.

I like those kind of players. I had the same experience with Pierre Thomas his first year, when nobody knew who he was, and just thought he was a camp body to give Antonio Pittman a break. He came over in the 105 degree heat, smiled, and took pictures with my kids. Marvin Mitchell, Tim Duckworth, and Zach Strief did the same thing, and we were very impressed. We got lucky their last year in MS, and saw a crowd at the bottom of the hill, and who was there? Coach Payton!!!!! I told him we would be in our Terrace seats making noise for him. He smiled and gave my kids an extra large autograph for our poster.

These are OUR guys.
