Reggie Bush, stilll, love 'em

After being out for 8wks, he will have to get his stride back.
I still like Bush. I think he is still a good guy and is a good player but he was out for 8 wks. That is a long time.
If he had not been out injured for 8 wks.,no way would he have made those 2 big mistakes.
I am not a coach, but maybe they had to put him out there for him to get over it, you know. There must be a little fear.

Did anyone see where he was slapping his head? He was on the bench slapping himself.
Awwww wow, poor guy. I wanted to cry for the poor kid.
I hope he realizes he will get back to where he was.:(

spkb25 11-25-2010 08:49 PM

I do too, and he will pay dividends as the season goes on. We need Reggie. He'll be okay.

Ashley 11-25-2010 08:58 PM

he will be fine.

AsylumGuido 11-25-2010 09:15 PM

Agreed. Reggie will be here when we really need him.

niteadept 11-25-2010 09:25 PM

Rusty?!!! He's just wanting to do something special!! I love REGGGGIIIIIEEEE!!! At the end of the season, the other teams will be saying, "whattttt???? WHO DAT?!!!!!

saintfan 11-25-2010 09:27 PM

Before it is said and done, Reggie will have made up for today...and then some...

saintsfan1976 11-25-2010 09:28 PM

Ready for the playoffs...

504state 11-25-2010 09:40 PM

**** Reggie. There I said it. Now that it is off my chest, Im sure he will make up for it down the stretch. For the next 24 hrs though he is on my **** list along with Graham and Robinson.

pherein 11-25-2010 09:47 PM

Love him also, but he almost lost this game for us single handedly.
1 missed easy screen pass
1 misses easy 7
1 turnover on the 10

wake up Bush baby were paying you a lot.

RaginCajun83 11-25-2010 09:55 PM

If he doesn't show up in the playoffs then the front office is going to have to look long and hard in keeping him around, he almost cost them the game tonight IMO he's gone after the cba is figured out

Strat hes been out 8 weeks exactly, and we are paying him 8 Mill a year.
His presence in this game cost us 14 pts! Lance could have received that ball and lance would have make that 7 points in the flat.

reggie better wake up. Right now Im all for paying Lance Moore 8 mil a year. At least he never has rust.

Bush is like holding plutonium, it could be used for amazing good or evil, Im at a loss for words

Yea I know and we all love the guy, but hes so dangerous. Most dont get if he didnt fumble in the NFC Championship we wouldn't be in OT. But his performance VS the Cards got us there, the guy is like dynamite, he can hurt anyone, lol

Danno 11-25-2010 11:35 PM

Reggie Betts, I mean Bush, is the most over-rated player in Saints football history.

Sorry, he's just not that good.

I dont agree, but I see your point Danno, Bush is the most Dangerous player in Saints football history. HE can win you a game, singe handed, or take it away.

Crusader 11-26-2010 12:57 AM

I noticed h slipped on that pass that should have been a TD. Also Porter was slippin' quite a bit early in the game and i saw other playes do it throughout the game. Got me thinking, what kind of surface do the Cowgirls have? Is it that slippery?

Bush should hold on to the ball but blocking on that return, as it has been the last 2 years, was horrendous. We all saw against the Cardinals last year what happens if the ST actually blocks somebody, anybody.

I respect everyone's opinion about him, but I don't believe he can win a game for us. He's an over-priced cog in the Drew Brees machine.

Gimme Julius Jones and Reggies $8 million salary to spend on another player and I'll give you Reggie Bush all day long.

I'm sure he'll eventually make an exciting paly again (just like all starting RB's do) and everyone will be in love with him, but I'm over him. He's a glorified Eric Metcalf without the pro-bowls or return skills.

He'd be a nice 3rd down back at minimum salary, but otherwise he can walk.

The one thing I think gets overlooked about Reggie is the amount of attention he garners from opposing defenses. I know that's "soft" analysis, but very true. When Reggie is in the game, somebody is going to be keeping an extra eye on him. That extra attention helps the other Saint skill players get open.

Reggie is probably overpaid, but he's still a part of what makes this offense so dangerous. When he gets the ball in the open field he's more dangerous than most any player in the league.

And I'll also say that at the end of last year and the first two games of this year, Reggie was running the ball MUCH differently. He was running people over, he was forcing the issue with defenders, and really looked strong with the rock. I'll admit he was awful last night, but after breaking a leg, I'm not going to throw him to the wolves after one poor game. I just hope he starts getting the ball more and shows what he did in week one.

I don't think he gets any more attention than any other quick scatback would get.

cablebandit 11-26-2010 09:08 AM

I agree. The Falcons will sure as hell be trying to account for him. On punt returns (Falcons huge weakness) Reggie could be a huge difference maker as well.

I don't think Reggie should take anytime off this week! He should practice catching the swing pass! I love what he does to opposing defenses and he needs to get ready for the playoffs.

Papa Voodoo 11-26-2010 10:56 AM

Graham is not Shockey so if one more person compares them (not here) my head will explode. Reginold will be fine. 8 weeks and a bit of leg worry are what happened as well as him pressing too much. He shook off the outer layer of rust which is important.

CheramieIII 11-26-2010 10:58 AM

I don't like him very much after yesterday. I don't see how you can get paid millions to hold a freaking football and you can't catch it or fumble it all over the place when you do get it.

I was wondering about that as well. Our guys were slipping all over the place and Porter was killing me because he seemed to be all over the ground instead of the opponent.

It has been either feast or famine with Reggie. Agreed he gets paid a lot and should not be losing the ball, but I do recall the numerous fumbles over the past few years. I also recall Reggie doing some amazing things when it appeared that there was nothing. He needs to practice, practice, practice and Brees will be right there with him practicing.

And we should all be grateful for Williams letting Jenkins rip the ball from his hands. He delivered us an early Christmas gift!

jnormand 11-26-2010 12:28 PM

Reggie is a difference maker in some games. I enjoy watching him play. That's probably the main thing for me. He's exciting to watch because he has the ability to do something great on any given play. I wasn't happy about his performance yesterday, but he's going to be much harder on himself than any of the fans.

skymike 11-26-2010 12:41 PM

Im a fan of Reggie as a person. Just like I liked the Saints when they were down, whether they actually had a chance to beat the 49ers or not.

Just like I root for my kid when he plays little league football. Im rooting for him.

Business is business. I understand. Cut Reggie loose if you must-- that might be the correct action, if you're the front office.

But personally, as just a fan in the Terrace, I'm rooting for Reggie to come back and be a star.

G504 11-26-2010 06:39 PM

I'm a firm believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." The most important stat in football is wins. If anybody wants to compare Bush to Barber, Jones-Drew, or Peterson, I say look at the records and look at the ring fingers. Fantasy football owners can have the rest of those guys, we're keeping Bush.

QBREES9 11-26-2010 10:50 PM

give the man a chance to get game ready. Still Love him.

Reggie is how you explain the fumble. He is Reggie and that is what he does he fumbles and makes me cringe WHEN HE GOES BACK TO FIELD A PUNT.

TinyK85 11-27-2010 02:57 PM

yeah...

i agree...if they would have let him play in the last game then i think he could have at least gotten some of the jitters and kinks out of his system and this game could have been a little different. he should be back on his feet in no time!

still on TEAM REGGIE!

TheOak 11-29-2010 07:10 AM

He needs to be on the field for a while with out the ball in his hands to get his rhythm back. Historically players that sit out for many games come back rusty....

He has averaged 3-4 fumbles a season.

While I like him too. However, some games he makes a larger contribution with out the ball, by making defenses key on him.

In all fairness, he has had what... 8 weeks to get game ready?
