I wanted to take a moment and say I'm really proud of this message board. Last year when we were living it up and basking in first place glory I would go to the Failcons board and see 70% of posts about the Saints. Most were negative of course but that's not the point. The point is instead of supporting and discussing their own team they were obsessed with ours.

This year the Failcons are playing well and getting some breaks. And our (whiny)sister forum, SR now looks like the Failcons board of last year. A great many posts and even at times the majority are about the Failcons rather than our team.

It's refreshing to be a part of a forum that reflects our Saints in the fact that it hasn't lost it's focus and become obsessed with what other teams are doing. I realize some members may say there are too many Failcon threads on here as well, but trust me this forum has kept it to moderation unlike our sister forum.

We all hate the Failcons but this is a Saints forum and I'm proud that this forum hasn't forgotten that.

I'm proud of the Saints. Any other team going through about 7 RB's would have caved in by now. The staff did the best they could and stopped the bleeding. Ivory is getting better every week and Reggie is finally getting his nose to the grindstone in practice.

Sorry my man but big BS here. There are 30 post on the front page of the Falcons message board and only 2 are about the Saints. Every other post here is what you go to do to catch us.............just say'en!

I think you got THIS board, mixed up with the smack talk board. I just went through the whole first page, and didn't see anything like you just described.

This site rocks. It's full of real football fans and the atmosphere is laid back.
I read it everyday and get my fix here.

We're Super Bowl Champs. What do we care about the FalClowns. And some guy named Matt Ryan.

I love the B&G community, but I've been spending more time at SR lately. Why? Because too many avatars here look like porn, and I'm embarrassed to have my wife, kids or coworkers see me looking at the site. If I want to sneak a peek at B&G, I have to do it when no one is around. Too bad, because as I said, I like y'all.

No, I was referring to you saying that there are multiple topics here, that deal with the Saints catching the Falcons this year. I have seen a couple in the NFL section, which is completely acceptable, and in the smack talk board. That's what I love about this site, everything has its seperate place, and position.

What am I missing? I haven't seen any avatars, that i would consider pornographic. Nothing you wouldn't see in a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.

I understand what you are saying, but wow, you can see more than what's on here, on television any night of the week.

Strato is bound, and determined to be our first member to get to 10000 posts! I've never seen anyone with that many posts on here.... I feel like a bad fan, because I've been here longer, and I'm not even close to his numbers! :)

Yeah i've skimmed through the SR site a few times and it's turned into an overly obsesses Failcon hate zone over there, those people have literally turned that board into a "hate Failcons" Forum...
Glad this Forum keeps it to a minimal, we discuss it but no way we let Failcons overshadow our Saints that are doing very well, we slipped up earlier in the season but Saints seemed to put it together and Brees is getting his groove back even with the INT's he's able to drive down the field and slice up any Defense.. Im proud of what we got on the field could careless honestly what Falcons are doing until we see em again.

I would like to address the Avatar issue..

BlackandGold.com is a laxed online sports community, we assume we have a forum full of grown adults..
I don't see the avatar's any different or worse than any other of our competitor sites.

Also on Blackandgold.com if the Avatar photo's here offend you, you are able to turn them off.. It's a simple 30 sec task to have an enjoyable as possible experience here.

I didn't realize there are other teams. Who are these Clowns you people keep referring to? Are they a legitimate NFL team or are they a media fantasy? Why would there be sites where one is invited to express opinions and then terminated for having an educated and thoughtful opinion?

rich006 I felt like that for quite a while also. Then I decided to just turn off the avatar setting and I have no problem surfing through the site at work now... but I definitely understand what you're saying.

Just don't ever ever ever let Speedy Ron change his avatar. It would be a disaster of epic proportions, or at least B&G proportions. LOL

I'm coming up on my first anniversary of my join date at B&G. I was never one to join message boards or post on message boards. But I found a link to this board on coldhardfootballfacts.com one day. I came over, trolled a couple of months and just couldn't stand it. I had to jump in on the conversations. I'm glad I did. I have enjoyed spending the last year on BlackandGold.com with you guys (and gals). It has been a wild year.

B&G is the place for educated fans who want to share information and learn along the way. Great minds think alike. We also have the ability to make friends here and don't get into pissing contests.

I was forced to troll that other website a while back after the server went down and it gave me a deeper appreciation for our members and our moderators. Thanks Halo.

Thank you! Now I can enjoy my favorite Saints fan board again.

I didn't even realize but my year just passed as well. I remember I found this place through twitter and never looked back. I didn't even know there was another site.

Anyway, back on topic, this site is the best Saints site as far as I'm concerned. The people are great, the mods are awesome, and things just plain rock here.

Thanks to Skymike for inviting me here a couple years ago, I love this place by far the best place on the internet for Saints news
