I doubt he will be returning kicks, if he plays at all I would say maybe about 7-10 touches tops.

Maybe Payton thinks that because PT is so good following his blockers on screen passes, he could do the same on kick offs.

IMO, there is too much of a chance of injury to such an important part of the Saints offense.

If you think about it kickoff returns seem and easier way to come back than full fledged action, there may be 2 to 5 times he sees the ball and that would determine his in game status going forward. Safe, really smart move if they do it. Don't put to much to early.

PT being rusty and having return duty can hurt us the worst. Just like Reggies' return game, any turn-over on a return and the Bengals will have a very short field.

My thoughts exactly. Why couldn't Roby handle punts as well as KOs?

I liked in this other article toward the end what Brees said about PT. Basically he is happy to seem him healthy. He is a QBs best friend with the running game and screen plays. Also he is good with pickin up blitzes.

If you can't play on ST you cant play at all. There is no difference, don't activate a guy you can't put everywhere.

PT was moved to upback after returning kicks his first years.
I agree with Crus- if you can play, you can play. KO's are slow developing, you are facing forward, you get to hit someone instead of getting hit... good first play to shake off the rust

Besides, if he is getting a jersey Sunday, he'll be taking a spot away from an ST'er
