hit em wit the slow bob, and throw your voice and flinch. Awesome job drew !!!! Also I heard one of the announcers I think it was Ron Pitts say that the offensive line has coached up, so that if drew is trying to draw the other team offsides and your man is the one who jumps offside to jump off the ball right after so that the officials have no choice but to call it on the other teams d

I still say Nicks deserves credit for being savvy enough to move to get the draw off!

Even my wife with LIMITED football knowledge knew what they were trying to do ... One of the most classic plays of the year.

lynwood 12-05-2010 08:54 PM

I was worried that Payton was going to try for the first down by running a play. You never know with him or Les Miles.

Seriously? NO WAY was he going to actually run a play there ... He's crazy ... Just not psychotic!!!!

This crossed my mind, and I actually said outloud, "damnit Sean this isn't the NCAA". But the man just has the right touch. If left up to me I would have kicked the FG and headed in to overtime with a gassed defense. That's why Sean is on the sideline and I'm on the couch surfing Zooey pics.

it was a classic draw offsides that really did'nt work. it was the rule of the draw offsides that worked. makes no sense i know but it worked.

CashAndFlash 12-06-2010 09:29 AM

I really think that part of the reason it worked is because of Sean's reputation... at least a few people on the Bengals had to be thinking "this mother****er may just be crazy enough to go for it." If it was Andy Reid or somebody, it would be a different story.

I seem to be the odd man out. I was hoping for Ivory to get the ball.

CashAndFlash 12-06-2010 09:56 AM

I was really thinking we might go for it... but if I can remember, I was thinking pass...

Les Miles' little creek ran dry. If we keep having to go to the well, it won't be long before ours dries up too. We should have blown these people out. The Bungles did exactly what we were all hoping they would do...they just handed it to us. As the clock was ticking down, all of us had that dark place in our minds that we really didn't want Payton to shine his light - and we all know he is capable of it.

I remember thinking .....oh God no! The only thing about these little trick plays is that eventually you can wind up tricking yourself.

neugey 12-06-2010 11:14 AM

It was totally the right call to line up on 4th and 2 and take delay of game, the way that Hartley has problems kicking close ones.

What a nice gift, thanks Bungles!

lol, and the cool thing about bluffing in poker or football and winning, is the next coach will be even more confused, giving you a better chance for success. Thinking " Why is fricken Payton doing that play again!! He knows that I know what hes knows,,,, errr or do I?".

The next DC will probably tell everyone to play the ball on 4th, but that the DL should freeze and dont try to get a jump on the ball. Giving us a jump on the defense for a 1-2 yard 4th down run play.

Brilliant.
