Secondary

I've been telling my brother this, but he keeps telling me I'm overreacting. I think our secondary is somewhat overrated. I think Porter and Greer are good, but we don't have the shut down tandem everyone thinks we have. I think the fact that they are way better than David, Thomas, and McKenzie has caused us to annoint them the best cornerback duo in the league. Both of them have been getting clowned quite a bit this year.

And special teams haven't helped us out much either lately.

i think we have a pretty good secondary, we need more pressure up front.

No the magic is not there like last season. It will help getting Sharper back in the mix once he gets back to game speed.

I think it has more to do with the linebackers skill putting holes in coverage. Plus, we don't exactly put a lot of pressure on the QB. We do a lot of blitzing, but it's mostly for confusion and a sack is just a dream sometimes. Eventually someone gets open, and it's usually down the middle.

Pressure on the QB is virtually non-existant this year. That kills even the best coverage.I'd like to see us draft a young DE with the 32nd overall pick.

A young DE/LB would be nice; depending on who's available

I don't think we gave our corners to much credit, they are good efficent corners. Very undersized when up against the likes of C. Johnson and Owens. Greer has been getting picked on also. And please remember, both of these corners are just back off of their own nick and bumps just less than a few weeks ago.

Our corners faired way better than Bengals corners and those are supposed to be the best tandem in the league besides Cromartie and Reavis.

I'm wondering just how much of a role Fujita played last season, it seems that something is missing.

The key here is that both have had injuries and missed playing time. When they get a little more time together then Sharper can ease over and intercept a pass or make a big play.

We are still ranked third in the NFL against the pass and that comes after facing big WR tandems of Mike Williams/Obomahu, Roy Williams/Austin/Bryant and T.O./Ochocinco over the past three weeks. Talk about a Murder's Row of receivers!

I think they will have a great deal of success against the Rams WR's this week.
