PT is the best complete back on this team... which is why we utilize him in a variety of ways, not strictly regulated to running the football.

I was not knocking PT at all. It is just not good business to hold onto something that happened once 4 years ago.

With out a running game we are not a balanced offense. Our running game showed up with Ivory. Period.

we also won a super bowl without him.

It's a valid point. Last year, we had pt and bush, this year we have both, plus Ivory. It doesn't have to be a 2 out of3 situation.

WHOA!!! Put on the brakes!

You guys are trading a RB and we are finally hitting on all cylinders?!
I say treat them like the receivers we have and rotate them to excellence as we have the passing game.

You want to lose somebody, and of course this will come as off-topic, LOSE from the O-Line, D-Line and of course Number 5. (I won't even speak his name again) Trust me, he has yet to let us down when we most need him. I dread that Atlanta game already for fear of that last minute over-the-top field goal we're gonna see.

All that being said, which I apologize for; Ivory, Bush, P.T., Jones, Betts, Hamilton. In that order.

The Saints are finally a near-COMPLETE team. I honestly think we are in a better state, not division position however, than last year!

By the way.

That field goat will go wide LEFT. Dammmit!
(crossing my fingers that I'm dead wrong)

Cashandflash and AlaskaSaints:

No, I do not want to loose anyone. I love having ALL of them!
This thread is about next year. Which will be a Salary Capped year, unlike this year.

Ivory is in a rookie contract so there is not much to discuss about him.

PT... well it is not news to anyone that he wants more money and could have "possibly" been holding out for more money.

Bush... He has yet to prove that he is worth what we are paying him. He has games where he is down right spectacular, but he also has games where he is extremely unproductive.

Bush would have to take a cut. We need to shore up other areas.

We all complain about certain aspects of our game, certain players, etc... There is actually one word that sums up what we need to work on and it has been our biggest issue as far back as i can remember... Consistency!

We can not be consistent with extremely hot and cold players.

It was an example of how good the guy is and that he is used in many ways in the Saints offense. The only thing that I'm "holding on to" is the Saints Superbowl win with PT starting as RB. Pierre is the Saints best and most complete back.

I get tired of beating this drum Strato LOL..

But to all please tell me know what makes you "think" he can't screen or catch out of the backfield?

He has been thrown to once in regular season. Against Tampa Bay. 17 yards!

If you want to count preseason.. He was thrown to once against San Diego... That one he took 76 yards for a TD.
