I know point spreads have been argued here before, but just remember how/why the point spreads are set. Bookies set the number so that an equal amount is bet on each team. Also, home field is generally worth 3 points.
So the real experts (not the idiots who pick games for yahoo or fox) think this will be a very close game.

The might falcons are setting pretty right now, but that ain't going to last long. We have key players coming back that we need and should give us the edge.

Backed into a corner is a bit strong. While it is true that any hopes of winning the NFC South crown, and a guarantee to be in the playoffs ride on this game, it isn't a "win or out" situation by any stretch of the imagination.

Let's take a look at the playoff scenarios for this week.

NFL Playoff Scenarios Week 16 - SB Nation Cleveland

Saints win or TB loss (or tie by either).

That's easy enough.

I think there's a psych game to be played here. It's likely that the Saints may be back in the Georgia Dome next month in the playoffs. A solid win, and taking down the Falcons in their house, can send a strong message that being home doesn't matter much in championship football.
