I hope you guys destroy me tomorrow

I've been hard on Bush, and in my opinion rightfully so. I think he's the most over-rated player in Saints history.

But I swear I hope you guys absolutely lambaste my arse tomorrow with a great game by Reggie, win or lose.

saintfan 12-27-2010 09:09 PM

Nothing yet Danno, but he's been close once or thrice through the first half...

QBREES9 12-27-2010 09:09 PM

I hope we get to. But so far ......

Danno 12-27-2010 10:50 PM

And my arse remains lambaste-free

saintsfan1976 12-27-2010 11:01 PM

Opened up the lanes for others.

Or not.

Hey! He was two shoestring tackles away from two big plays: the punt return and the screen.

Or you could say that he can't even break toenail tackles.

And that was it. I've been one of his biggest supporters since he's been here... but honestly it's getting old. Our offense works just fine without an overpaid decoy. I hope he rights ship, restructures, comes back and produce... but if he left this upcoming offseason, it'd be fine with me.

breesfan27 12-27-2010 11:39 PM

Don't hate on Reggie! If it weren't for him, my hubby would have been sacked on that play. He saved the day!

RailBoss 12-27-2010 11:55 PM

Can't wait to see Ivory back in the scheme of things.

Saintswrath 12-28-2010 12:00 AM

We've been getting some nice blocking from Bush, it's sad thats the best use we've gotten out of him all season long. 11 million dollars to block? man he better take a pay cut or i will have no problem dealing him in the offseason.

saintsfan601 12-28-2010 12:06 AM

Just wait till the playoffs. Then you can eat your words.Big time players, make big time plays,in big time games.(this one not included). That block was nice though.

exile 12-28-2010 03:32 PM

Ohhh Danno... I'm saving this thread for the playoffs like 601 said. Muwahahahaha.. cough cough

Tres bien, mon ami!

He just can't wash off that Kim Kardashian STANK. The man has never been the same after her...

Alaska

Can't defend Reggie this season. He's not been the same player I was so excited about at the end of last season.

He did have a nice blitz pick up though.

subguy 12-29-2010 10:25 AM

There are very fans who straddle the fence with Bush. It is either like of dislike. I have been clearly on the I can't see consistent contribution from this guy side. Few games here and there to me do not warrant all of the hype he receives. I am not mentioning $$$ only contribution. One nice blitz pickup, thanks for that. And when people say he hasn't been the same, I wonder the same as what? He has been the same Bush I have been watching since we picked him up. I don't hate Bush, I just don't think he warrants all of the hype.

Well said.

If he was making Chris Ivory money I'd be pleased with him on our roster. But at 8 to 12 million he's a liability, considering what else we could get with 12 million per season (hint: A Stud OLB not named Scott)

It annoys me that when you point this out, many immediately label you a Bush hater.

I'm a Bush critic, not a Bush hater. I do hate the false hype he gets though.

Hopefully he can have a couple break-out games in the playoffs. I have faith that Payton can find some kind of use for him. I'll be pulling for him just as hard as I pull for PT and Ivory.

Don't see you as a Bush hater and most Bush lovers would also agree that he is paid too much for what he has been producing as of late. I would love to see him take less $$, stay with the Saints, spread that $ around to PT, Ivory, etc and be more consistent with his game. Don't know about Kim having lingering effects, but the kid's still got it in there and I wish someone would pull it out!! But the blocking he did for Brees was nice. Too bad the front line sucked at it so badly.

dizzle88 12-29-2010 11:08 AM

As its been said, Bush is too inconsistent. I'm not a reggie hater, and yes the past couple of weeks it has been the O-Lines fault that bush was wrapped up so quickly.
Only thing being i remember watching the monday night game, brees hit back back across the field, that is bush's signature play - outrun the man to the corner, he gets tripped up when he has tons of open field space to run.
The guy is a stud, he just doesn't show everyone how good he is enough, when he plays with a chip on his shoulder he seems to be a monster - rewatch last year vs rams, last year vs cardinals. Take a look at his runs, he didn't dance, he exploded off the line, made one cut inside a hole and then made decisions when he got into the open field.
He does get jumped on too early sometimes, by both fans and Defenders, but he can help his cause by making quick decisions with the ball. He will get let off if its not his fault, because the O line has been less then stellar.

Its nothing I didn't already know, and I've said the same thing a dozen times, except the Kim part. I'm not buying that at all.

I think the problem is that way too many aren't listening to what I'm saying, since its basically what she just said.

Ding Ding Ding......give the man a prize! The NFL Defensive players are too fast to be indecisive, too much dancing. When he hits the hole and cuts he does well. He just runs the same way he was successful in college, and it is a whole new level of talent and speed.

Yep, and going into this season I was hoping to see more of the same thing. I truly thought he learned. But what I see SO FAR is the east-west tap dancer.

If he remembers what he did last year and repeats it, he could be a big factor come playoff time.

If he keeps tap dancing east-west, he won't help much.
