Somebody give Hartley some LOVE

Different game if he misses that 52 yarder. We would be looking for a rope. With scores hard to come by and a season pass on the 3-and-out train, that field goal was HUGE. Its kind of buried in the details of beating the league leader in their house on Monday Night football, but I'm pulling it from the rubble and dusting it off for everyone to see. Yep - it was just one, but a good one. Thanks G!

FireVenturi 12-27-2010 11:45 PM

Good point man, totally agree!!!!!!!!

|Mitch| 12-27-2010 11:45 PM

Good Point!

Hartley has really corrected his accuracy the last half of the season. And that 52 yarder was HUGE!

breesfan27 12-27-2010 11:55 PM

Hartley has definitely redeemed himself. Good job, cutie! :D

darstep 12-27-2010 11:59 PM

ALL this love is only good for 3 days. The slate is clean once we tee it up next week. Got to earn it again.

saintsfan601 12-28-2010 12:02 AM

I was coming here to post the same thing.+1 on rep.In Peyton we trust.Great job in keeping the faith and not cutting him.

Beastmode 12-28-2010 01:09 AM

Thanks Hartley

That 52 yard bomb was almost as good and my Grandma's roux.

pherein 12-28-2010 01:14 AM

Nice post, he won one for us, WTG Hartley

Choupique 12-28-2010 01:17 AM

Recall the folks in this forum... the so called ahem, fans who were whining "cut Hartley" not so long ago??

My theory is they have that LSU disease. (Fire everyone if ya don't win by a bazillion points)

They should have to move to Atlanta.

Our coach has faith in the kid. Good enough for me. Nice kick!

|Mitch| 12-28-2010 01:21 AM

Yep! And he had enough leg in it; it would have been good from 62...

exiled 12-28-2010 02:37 AM

one man's dysfunctional is another man's high achiever...

none the less my confidence is reassured and because we actually drafted you - i have a certain sence of attachment - NOW I AM NOW REASSURED.

TheOak 12-28-2010 06:14 AM

7 in a row! Glad to see you "kicked" what was ailing you. I am also glad we do not play at home again..

skymike 12-28-2010 06:47 AM

Were home Sunday.

in our terrace seats.

nice thread. that FG was huge, absolutely correct. if Hartley misses that, the Georgia Dome gets all crazy, and our wind is out of our sails.

Fair enough. Glad the game does not matter. He is still 55% at home and 93% away.

He as been 100% since week 7 against Cleveland.

Yeah gotta give Hartley his Fair do's, he made the play. Turned out to be huge for us, The guy seems to be automatic from 40 or 50+, keep it up Garrett!!

Hopefully we bring a kicker in to push him next season. If the other kicker beats him out, then so be it.

how bout those clutch kicks from the super bowl? NFC 'ship?

or when he makes some kicks for us in the playoffs and superbowl this year?

c'mon magic...lay off the 4 loco.

Hartley Redeemed Himself

17-14 difference in the game was Hartley's kick. He missed that and the Falcons would have had excellent field position. Speaking of field position...all I see on the Falcons boards is how they are better than the Saints, a bunch of whinning crybabies talking about Katrina, and how ATL didn't show us everything last night..Hahaha. We started on the 10 all night.

ATL showed us EVERYTHING they had last night and lost :) We showed that if you stop Turner the Falcons are nothing. Ryan can not carry a team like Drew. It took a series of flags for the guy to score once. 148 passing yards...Yawn.

WHO DAT baby! We're in. ATL is doomed and it will be hilarious to see them go down to either us or Philly.

Does anyone have Roddy White's post game locker room video? I bet it is priceless :bng:

"cost us the division" is an overstatement. That fat lady ha'nt sang yet.

JoanieNTX 12-28-2010 11:23 AM

Way to go, Garrett! ( ;) Remember...I told ya)! It's like Drew says "We be us...we be special!" Well, you just be YOU, and it will all work out. ;) Congrats on that career best FG!

Papa Voodoo 12-28-2010 11:26 AM

Don't you hate it when you search for a thread, don't see it, and start a new thread only to find the same thing....Doh!

ScottF 12-28-2010 11:28 AM

Hartley made one great kick today, but is far from redemption. We would be division champs right now if he had made that chip shot in OT

Papa Voodoo 12-28-2010 11:32 AM

Maybe...maybe not. A whole different course of events would have unfolded for sure but who knows what might have happened. I'm sure his confidence got a big boost for the playoffs. A shank would have been awful.

jnormand 12-28-2010 11:39 AM

He's been automatic lately and I'm confident again when he steps onto the field. Nice job hartley.

yeah. i see that. I guess we can call him "even." But he sure finds the hard way to be even.

GeauxForMore 12-28-2010 03:46 PM

I happy he's doing a good job, but I still can't watch when he kicks the ball.

AlaskaSaints 12-28-2010 04:08 PM

Props to Hartley.

But...

Live by the field-goal kicker; DIE by the field-goal kicker!

We really have to start winning by more than 3. REALLY.

Alaska
