This was like a mini Super Bowl for us. Sort of a SB 44.5

The talking heads will have a difficult time explaining their "expertise" after today. The New Orleans Saints proved why we are called the Reigning Superbowl Champions, and why that title is still worthy of recognition (for those of you who tell us to let it go).....

Myths that were dismissed:

New Orleans has no run Defense: Turner 48 yards, 2.8 ypc. Falcons 75 yards on the ground.

Atlanta can not be beaten at home (or) Atlanta is the best team in the NFC: 17 Saints 14 Falcons.

Atlanta does not turn the ball over (or) New Orleans cant not force turn overs this year: Thanks for both those balls Falcons.

Ryan is Better than Brees: Ryan (15/29 148 yards 1 TD), Brees (35/49 302 yards 1 TD 1 Int)

Note: Matt Ryan has been given most all of the credit this year for the Falcons record and success. You have all heard "Matt Ryan can not be beaten at home". Ironically, the Falcons self imposed claim to fame is being a hard running team first. He must hand the ball off very well in order to get those kudos.

New Orleans has to play mistake free football to win: 2 Turnovers, 8 penalties for 92 yards. Still won.

New Orleans needs the refs to win: See above line.

New Orleans can not win if Brees throws interceptions: Watch the replay this week.

Achievements:

Atlanta: 3rd Down Efficiency this season (47%).... Today (25%)
Atlanta: 122.6 Ave Rushing yds/gm Today (75)
Atlanta: 226.7 Ave Passing yds/gm Today (140)
Atlanta: 25.5 Ave Points/gm Today (14)

Atlanta showed up to play, and they played hard. They are a damn good football team, just not "that good", and not a "better" Football Team. For the record I am glad we gave them the ball twice. Kills the "if we had not fumbled", "you only scored when we gave you the ball", along with the rest of the excuses they will try to come up with.....
