Vilma Voted Saints "Man Of The Year"
 

Linebacker honored for his success in the community and on the field

Linebacker Jonathan Vilma has been named the 2010 New Orleans Saints "Man of the Year" for his dedication to community service, his charitable efforts and his performance on the football field, the team announced Tuesday.
Saints coach Sean Payton says it's a tremendous honor on a team in which there are so many players that would be deserving of such an award.

"I think John epitomizes all the things that go into someone who contributes not only as a team leader, as a team player, as a middle linebacker for us but also as someone that lives it in the community as well," Payton said.

The honor is voted on annually by members of the media, Saints front office staff and local non-profit and business executives.

Vilma becomes a finalist for the NFL Man of the Year award.
