Who do you fear in the playoffs?

Ok so I don't fear any team because you have to beat the best to be the best.

Personally I want to play the Rams then go to Atlanta before meeting Green Bay in the Superdome for the NFC Championship game. This would be ideal since we wouldn't have to play any cold weather games.

I think we all fear playing the Patroits the most.

AsylumGuido 12-30-2010 04:09 PM

I honestly do not fear any team. Not even the Patriots. They had their slip up against the Browns just like we did. If anything I put them on equal ground to us and if we play our game we will beat them.

Ourselves

This is a good answer. I have to agree, to a point. The only team I feel that can beat the Saints is the Saints. Although, I don't feel this will happen.

We shouldn't have anything to fear; we seem to play our best in those "prime-time" situations...

I've seen Brees make some boneheaded plays lately.

I guess after the obvious answer that if we play our A-game there's no one to really fear, I think the following could give us trouble.

1. Vick - Our OLB's are slow, he could expose that
2. Rodgers - When he's in the zone, there's not a better passer in the league
3. Bradford/Jackson - Only because we have a tendancy to play down to our comp, and these two are very solid players that we'll probably face.
4. Turner - No problem if the defense in the ATL game shows up, BIG problems if the defense in the Ravens game shows up
5. Mother Nature - I'm thinking that if we have to play in snow and 25 MPH winds, Chicago will be a tough out.

The only thing I fear about the Eagles and Packers is the weather.

However, I do respect ANY team in the playoffs.

MatthewT 12-30-2010 05:26 PM

Saints should be able to make a nice run if they do not beat themselves. I am really hoping the Bears get knocked out because I really would not like the Saints chances playing in Chicago.

The way I see it...we have unfinished business in Chicago...

Sure there will be tougher challenges, but I stack our team against anyone and just geaux for it...

Rugby Saint II 12-30-2010 05:30 PM

I ain't skeered! Not one bit.
I respect the Patriots most but I lay awake at night thinking about having to play Da Bears in the snow......

AlaskaSaints 12-30-2010 05:32 PM

If we ban turnovers it will be a lock.

Another Alaska fan? You should check out IceShack.

If Green Bay had Finley and Grant healthy, it would have easily been them. Now... no one really. As good as Vick and their explosive weapons are, I just don't think they have the defense to stop us... and the fact our defense isn't too shabby to stop them.

CheramieIII 12-30-2010 07:58 PM

Philly more than any other team but here's the scenario. the Packers play at Philly and we play at the Rams or Seahags. We win for sure. We go and play the Falcons and win again, Philly if they win would have to go to Chitown and either lose to the Packers at home or the Bears in Chicago. We go to Chicago for the NFC Championship and exact a little revenge on the Bears for the beating we took a couple of years ago.

MatthewT 12-30-2010 08:05 PM

Seriously hoping the Rams take care of business against the Seahawks. As a Saints fan I would much rather play indoors against the Rams instead of that nasty rain palace in Seattle. Neither is a given, I would expect either team to bring their A game against the Saints.

Everybody.....

Nobody

SaintsBro 12-31-2010 12:15 AM

This is my personal thing about the Bears, and "weather" and Soldier Field...I kind of want that game to happen, actually.... I do think it's unfinished business, and I think realistically we actually match up pretty well against them, given what I've seen of them this year. I watched that Jets game and I felt like, yeah okay I know the Jets lost, but we WIN that type of game....

And I just have this feeling in my gut -- I think that Sean Payton has lain in bed at night many times, replaying that game over and over in his head, over and over, thinking about that game from every possible angle --coaching and weather and field conditions and playcalling and fumbles and special teams and EVERYTHING that happened... if he had only done this or done that, what did Lovie do, what could he have done to be better prepared...I'm sure he has. And I kinda feel like, if that game happens, if it comes back around to the Bears and Soldier Field, Payton is going to come out with guns blazing. Weather or no weather.

Understatement of the year.

SaintPauly 12-31-2010 04:56 AM

Here's one thing you HAVE to be able to do in cold weather games.... Run the ball consistantly. Keep third downs short, and convert, and run the clock. Ball control is essential in winning these types of games. Against the Bears? In their house? Not scared of them, but Ivory, and Thomas must take the bulk of the carries. Bring those safeties up, and get the pass game going. Also, stopping the run. Forte is no slouch either.

Essentially, I'm not scared of anyone. We click, we win. Simple, yet not so.

Oh and after that fear our own mistakes...I think at this point the Rams could be prime to be a spoiler and when Rodgers is on, watch out. The other thing that is scary about GB is they have no running game, and sometimes those are the games where teams decide to "find" their running games against the Saints.

Srgt. Hulka 12-31-2010 11:50 AM

I fear nobody...
But we better respect everybody...even the Rams.

foreverfan 12-31-2010 12:07 PM

The concensus is in...

We fear no one. We are the team to be feared. :bng:

UK_WhoDat 12-31-2010 04:31 PM

Dem Saints.

It is all down to us. We turn up, play 60 minutes of solid Saints football and we enjoy the outcome. We turn up late or hand a lifeline during the game and I wonder if we can keep getting the late scores to win.
