How many running backs does it take to finish the season?

This year has been tough on our running game. We've been through numerous running backs. If I remember right we lost Hamilton first to an injury in preseason. He had promise and hopefully he will be back healthy for training camp.
Ivory looked very good at training camp and made a big impact when he played in between his own injuries.
We lost Reggie and PT in the same week and took a big hit to the running game while they were out. Neither one of them can be called durable.
We didn't have much success with players off the street........go figure. Betts, Jones and Wynn haven't given us any fire power and don't seem to be the answer for the short term or long term.
For crying out loud how many running backs does it take to finish the season?

remember we lost p.j. hill also in the preseason; he would have filled in nicely by now on the team. theres definitly a trend here with injuries that have to be dealt with. if i remember correctly wynn played just as good as betts did while he was here but they decided to go with betts because of more experience. wynn will be rusty thats the only problem i have. look how many games it took reggie to get his legs back under him and his balance is still iffy. look for wynn to get minimal carries but plenty spec. teams play.

Just one fit horse and a great blocking scheme.

Well we got them off the street for a reason.

A Body just to fill a hole.

If you recall we had the same situation last year with our DB's. Bringing guys off the street just to have enough to play a game. Injuries happen. Teams have to deal and move on.

i believe our backs will have a decent day sat.the rush will be so intense for seattle they will forget about the bush draw burning there feathers for huge gashes. i'm pumped and i'm ready, i know the black and gold nation is ready.

Makes you wonder why they would want to extend the football season to 18 games... not counting the playoffs. It's such a physical sport and now you can see why so many teams gravitated towards using multiple back systems. I never had the pleasure to watch the old schoolers like Jim Brown play, but it does make you appreciate their accomplishments even more.

PJ Hill. I knew there was another running back but I couldn't remember who it was.
And we did this last year with the corner backs getting banged up. We just had better success with our backups and the guys we brought in off the street. MM was the man last season.(I can't remember if he got a ring)

LT would have been a good fit but we were fine when he was available so I don't consider that a questionable move. What I do consider questionable is disregarding Brees's opinion.

If he wanted LT they should have made it so and given the man whatever he ask for period. At the end of the day, he is the team leader and knows the best fit for the team.

The injuries to Shockey, Graham, David Thomas and Colston actually worry me more. Brees is great at throwing to those big targets. All our other receivers are hit and miss, except for Moore who catches darn near anything in the world.
